Ideas for a ‘night out’ hamper

My SIL is expecting twins next year and I’ve started putting together a night out box for them - cinema voucher, popcorn, chocolates. Any other ideas? It looks a bit sad and empty!

Bath essentials for the new mum in the build up to the night out ..... Bath bomb, face mask, nail varnish.

So stuff for a night out after they leave the babies for the first time, yes?

How about stuff for the morning after, like ibruprofen and eye drops? Smile

An offer to babysit?
Bottle of wine to enjoy after the film.

Ear plugs
Eye mask
Voucher for pizza express or similar?

It’s really for pre babies - I really missed going out with DH post babies and wish we’d gone out more. Can’t do bath/body stuff - she works in the cosmetics industry and has very particular and expensive tastes!

I like the idea of a food voucher. Might need to get a smaller box to put this stuff in!

Hampers are a lot of pressure to buy LOTS of small things.

What about just buying presents? Or is that a bit old school now?

wowsaidtheowl · 12/12/2017 19:18

We do a joint present for couples in our family - I thought a hamper was a nice present?! Gosh, I hadn’t thought that I was being terribly modern and snubbing Christmas traditions. I just didn’t want to fill their house with crap they don’t need.

I just thought it might be easier to do a present if you're struggling to fill a hamper?

Thanks for suggestions- think I’m sorted now!

I do a night out hamper and a morning after hamper.
Nice bottle of wine or alcohol free drink of preference, posh chocs, party feet, £20 for a kebab and cab.
Morning after: Nice tea and posh biscuits, trashy magazines and £20 for a hangover takeaway ( I don't think that will be needed though Grin )

Maybe you could put a Christmassy blanket /fleece in the bottom of the box to sit the things on so it will look festive but also fill it up! Then they get something to keep too..ooh,you could even get a little baby blanket in there instead?

Love magazines & blanket ideas - I’m trying so hard not to start giving them baby stuff. I’m worried about living out my third child fantasies through them!!
