Gifts for pre-teen boys, ideas please!

I’m taking part in the met police gift appeal where you can sign up to buy presents for kids who may not otherwise receive much at Christmas. I chose to buy for three kids - and I got allocated boys of 10, 11 and 13. My kids are girls and much younger and I have no idea what pre teen boys are into. Is lego too childish for that age? Any ideas to help me get them something nice would be much appreciated. I could go for vouchers (argos? jD sports) but I think it’s nice to have something to open. Price limit is 20 quid. Help!

First off wanted to say that’s a lovely thing to do. I’ve not heard of that scheme before.

My ds is just 13 all he wants is branded clothing - Nike or Adidas - or stuff related to his Xbox addiction

I would say Lego good still for younger ones although you don’t get much of it for 20 quid unfortunately.

Also look at nerf guns - he was massively into those age 10 and 11

Books - Tom gates, wimpy kid etc have pretty universal appeal to boys that age even non readers

Could you buy a very large bar of chocolate and attach a voucher to that? Something to open and something to spend? What a lovely thing to be doing! My boys would have loved Argos at 10 and 11 and would have loved JD Sports at 11 and 13 - though I'm not sure there is a lot there for under £20

You can get a couple of Nike t shirts in sports direct for £20 for 2 I think so maybe one of those and sweets or voucher

You could get sports branded rucksacks which I’m sure would go down very well.

You are very kind to do this - boys that age and older are difficult to buy for so I’m sure your efforts will be appreciated.

Rubiks cube?

I had to buy for a 14yo boy and went for playing cards, a rubiks cube and £10 cinema giftcard

Also OP you need to be quick, they ask for things to be handed in by the 12th (tomorrow!)
