Does anyone know anything about smart watches?

Just had the idea that a smart watch might be something I could get DH for Xmas but I know nothing about them. He has an iPhone but there’s no way I can afford the proper Apple smart watches. Do the cheaper versions still work the same? I know nothing about them really .... do they just give you notifications that you’ve got a text/call and then you still have to look at your phone to respond? Do they do stuff like pedometer, sleep monitor etc, similar to a Fitbit?

I’ve stumbled across this ONE on groupon which seems very cheap but the description says it will work with an iPhone.

Anyone got any experience or know of any cheaper-than-Apple versions that are still good? Thanks :-)

An £11.99 smart watch is going to be an utter and absolute piece of crap, trust me and steer clear.

Apple smart watches are the best for a reason. Have you looked into a second hand one or getting a series 1 or 2 if still available?

Thanks. I haven’t looked into anything second hand - that’s a good suggestion. I assumed the £12 ones would be too good to be true but wondered if there’s a slightly more expensive (but still less than Apple) version that is actually decent.

My DH just got himself a Huawei watch 2 and he's really impressed at what it does for the price. Syncs with his Samsung S8 for all the usual texts, emails, WhatsApps etc. And he can customise quite a lot on it too.

That’s ok. I suggested an Apple Watch due to their reviews, reputation and more to the fact that it will work in tandom with your husbands iPhone.

There’s loads of second hand ones on eBay for decent prices - worth a look
