Boxing Day lunch (meal ideas)

Following the popularity of the Christmas Eve meals thread, I wondered what people are doing for Boxing Day?

We are hosting for the first time on Boxing Day, though still only 5 of us.

We will be doing:
Boiled and baked ham (cooked Christmas Eve)
Cauliflower cheese
Winter slaw

Cheese and general left overs and Christmas nibbles

However I have seen a stilton cheesecake with an oatcake base recipe and I am tempted...

So, what are you all having on Boxing Day?

Well, I’m going against the grain and doing a beef rendang, chicken masala, muttar paneer and Home made naan! But that’s not usual!!

We’d normally do the lines you are suggesting but I’d add in a baked Camembert and get some part baked baguettes to heat and dunk. A good chutney. Bowl of top notch cherry toms?

New potatoes par cooked and then finished in the oven with a knob of garlic butter.

And something completely different that you could make upfront and just ‘finish’ for pud - caramelised blood orange cheesecake is what I’m doing but also nigellas chocolate tart/cake thing gets better with days (you could make it 23rd)?

Put the ham in the slow cooker , much nicer

We buy the bread mix so fresh crusty bread/rolls, or buy part baked

Usually with salad coleslaw boiled eggs and left overs so sausage rolls, crisps, etc what my mum would call a picnic tea

Baked camembert is a good call, though we may do that for Xmas Eve. I was thinking of doing some of the 'mini' home grown baked potatoes to go with it and we have plenty of chutney! I just dug out a jar from 2013... I'm hoping it has just peaked Grin and we always have hm piccalilli.

ILs aren't big pudding eaters but I was going to reheat my Xmas pud which they do like, though I am toying with doing that Nigella boiled Christmas cake I think you are referring to (the one with chocolate and coffee in it). I have done it before and people who 'don't like Christmas cake' gobbled it up.

We traditionally have rissoto on Boxing Day, made from all the leftovers from the Christmas dinner.

If the weather is ok on Boxing day we will be out walking, with a bite at the pub for lunch, and will eat a main meal in the evening.
I'm doing jacket potatoes, turkey, cauli cheese and I'm going to nick your idea of a winter slaw, OP.
There will be left over Christmas cake and nuts and things to nibble on.
