Help! DH will have nothing at this rate!

Currently all I’ve got my dh is a £5 novelty Xmas t shirt from the supermarket. I’ve looked on the ideas for men thread and nothing really jumps out that he’d like. Trouble is he buys himself whatever he wants/needs which leaves nothing left for gifts! Eg - he likes computer games but bought himself the newest version of his favourite game last month. He likes Star Wars but got himself tickets to the new film. Also bought himself concert tickets that would’ve been an ideal present.

He doesn’t really read, only drinks cider, likes trains, football & the PlayStation. He doesn’t really need any newer versions of things he already has. Oh and it’s his birthday in a few days so I need to think of something for that too Hmm

Things I have bought in the past (so want to avoid) include driving experience day, tickets to comedian, clothes, books.

I’m stumped Confused

Home brew cider kit?
Train driving experience?
Day out on a steam train?
Headphones?
Themed lounge pants?
Socks!

New jacket
Restaurant vouchers or weekend away

whimsical1975 · 10/12/2017 16:58

What about a drone with camera?

cece · 10/12/2017 17:00

Tickets for a festival/gig/theatre/sporting event.

SpongeBobJudgeyPants · 10/12/2017 17:00

I have seen plenty of Star Wars mugs and stuff in various supermarkets, which would be a stocking filler.

Does he like Peaky Blinders? Saddlers brewery is doing their Peaky Blinders ale gift sets or they also do peaky Blinders spirits. As a fan of the show and alcohol i got one for DH.

Wenchelda · 10/12/2017 19:49

whimsical I did think of a drone but was put off partly by the cost (most of the good ones seemed to be more than I want to pay) but mostly by a colleague telling me that laws are soon coming in to force regarding drones and that you’ll have to have a licence or something for them.* No idea if that’s true though.*

Barry he does like Peaky Blinders so I’m definitely going to look into your suggestion Flowers

Thank you everyone for all the other ideas too Smile

subscription to some kind of TV or video channel that you don't already have?

DownstairsMixUp · 10/12/2017 21:49

Mines like this: I bought him a steam train gift that included a train ride on the first class carriage with a five course meal

islurpmyspaghetti · 10/12/2017 22:27

I did think tickets to a comedian when I first read this. Just because you have done it before doesn’t mean he won’t like it a second time around!

jocktamsonsbairn · 10/12/2017 22:28

Weekend away?

littlepoppett · 10/12/2017 22:36

My DP has everything - I am getting him an expensive bottle of his favourite drink and going to pay for a night away for us both (hotel and play)

canihaveacoffeeplease · 10/12/2017 22:40

I got my dh a cheesemaking kit, brewery tour and elective pepper grinder cos he loves gadgets ( and food).
