My dc are getting bmx bikes.

WhatwouldRuthdo · 10/12/2017 12:19

Yup my 4 year old is getting a bike. He’s asked for it and his birthday is in autumn/winter too so there’s no better opportunity to get one as a gift.

NumberEightyOne · 10/12/2017 12:20

Yes. A mountain bike.

MrsMotherHen · 10/12/2017 12:21

Yep for our almost 3year old.

stargirl1701 · 10/12/2017 12:22

Yes, DD1 is giving her 14" frame bike to DD2 and we are giving DD1 a 16" frame bike.

RatOnnaStick · 10/12/2017 12:22

DSes both had bikes about 3 years ago. They loved it and when we went to the park on Christmas day afternoon to blow some cobwebs away there were kiddies everywhere with bikes and scooters.

Katescurios · 10/12/2017 12:23

Yes for our 3 yr old. She's asked for it from Santa, it must have a baby seat for her dolly and a basket on the front.

Cheesymonster · 10/12/2017 12:27

Yep for our 5yo DD. Her first one. She doesn't know. It's a Disney princess one with a dolly seat. I'm so excited I keep going into he garage where it's hidden and dinging the bell.

Any tips on wrapping?!

xmasstress · 10/12/2017 12:34

Aww thank you for your replies. It's made me feel better about it. They have had their old bike a long time so are due a new one and will love to play out on it on xmas day. I think those bike with a place to put a dolly are very cute. I Have no idea how to wrap the bikes lol I'm still trying to figure it out. Plus my husband is working on a night shift in xmas eve and coming home xmas morning so I'm going to have to do all the preparing xmas eve !!

We have bought her a uniform bed set and we're using the dfuvet cover as a bag for the assembled bike.

Katescurios · 10/12/2017 13:05

That should say unicorn

Solasum · 10/12/2017 13:08

I am planning on using very cheap paper to wrap the whole thing, leaving it very much bike shaped

TotemIcePole · 10/12/2017 13:08

Orange BMX here for DD.

Halfords sell bike bags for £3, Poundland sell silver bike covers.

Or Im thinking 3 bamboo garden canes tied at one end, like a teepee with a sheet over and bike inside.

Or Im thinking

BarchesterFlowers · 10/12/2017 13:11

You can get giant gift bags for bikes for about £2. I think Halfords have them.

BarchesterFlowers · 10/12/2017 13:12

Oops - sorry TotemicePole - slow typing here, I was distracted by a Robin outside !!!

MyRelationshipIsWeird · 10/12/2017 13:14

DS is getting a BMX and has specifically asked that it be built and wrapped (with a big bow on it) in a proper bike shape Grin not just in the box. That makes a big difference apparently, so stock up on wrapping paper!

Watched Arthur Christmas last night and am now inspired to wrap it while doing a wheelie on it using only 3 pieces of tape!

TotemIcePole · 10/12/2017 13:18

DD stipulated the orange BMX she has asked Father.Christmas for, must have stabilisers, else she doesnt want one Xmas Grin

stargirl1701 · 10/12/2017 13:19

Duvet cover for wrapping here.

Cheesymonster · 10/12/2017 14:48

Thank you for the tips on the bike gift bags, I had no idea such things existed!
