Presents for a 13 year old (young)

It's his birthday next week so I've got him a games console and the game he wanted with an extra pad.

But for Christmas I'm stumped now.

He hasn't shown any interest in any other games.

He asked for Lego so got him a couple of sets but his siblings have lots more.

He's not into clothes or trainers or music.

I'm stumped :(

Books.
Football/tennis rackets/skateboard/scooter
Drum lessons

PSNah · 09/12/2017 11:09

He's a library assistant so has read almost every book available to him.

No interest in sports at all. Has a scooter and bike he doesn't bother with. Prefers go walk.

This is so hard

Mp3 Player with songs so he can take walking with him?

PSNah · 09/12/2017 11:11

He's really not into music at all Thesmall. He doesn't like any bands or watch the music channels. He's a young 13.

My ds 13 isn’t particularly bothered about clothes and trainers, as in he doesn’t care what he wears, but I still buy him some nice ones at Xmas. It’s really hard this year, he hasn’t asked for anything, I share your despair!

You can never, ever have enough books or read them all! Does he like factual books? Brian Cox? Tim Peake?

How about a home made voucher for more games that he can buy during the year as and when he finds games he'd like? My DS's birthday is also in Dec so he enjoys this knowing he doesn't have to wait 12 months for a new game.

Accessories for the console?

For smaller gifts, chocolate is a must, & what about top trumps? I've bought periodic table ones this year. DVDs?

lilyfire · 09/12/2017 11:20

Is he interested in computers/inventing? What about Sam Science Museum set? Haven’t tried it yet, but been researching it for my son.

PSNah · 09/12/2017 16:27

I'm not sure what that is but I will check it out.

If it’s an Xbox have you got him an Xbox live subscription? Xbox points are also good so can buy add ons for the game. Not sure what the other consoles have available.
You could buy a skin for the console?
How about a lego set that is really original, a Big Ben one?

Or an experience, at his age you can buy driving experiences for range rovers. That would be fun. That would take him out of his comfort zone I’m sure!

My nearly 13yo DS who is a bug reader loves a book token as much as anything. We have a great children's bookshop nearby and trip there with a token to buy 3 or 4 books is a big treat.

Other stuff
exploding kittens game
mastermind game
pencil case (needs rather than wants)
popcorn machine
safe type money box
