Sitting eating dinner with DH listening to the sound track to this film and DH says we must be the only people in the UK who love this film/enjoy the soundtrack. In fact, he's just described it as 'Alan Menken's finest moment' Smile

Please tell us we aren't the only fans of this fantastic and underrated musical?

I'd never heard of it before your post but a little search and sample on YouTube has made me want to give it go so thank you OP!!

I believe you that it's great. However I would feel a bit like I was betraying the Muppets Christmas Carol. We listen to that soundtrack!

Glad to have spread the joy CrazyBaubles!

IHeart, I get it. In fact, I might have been you once. I desperately wanted A Muppet's Christmas Carol video for Christmas when I was about ten, but never got it Sad and to this day I've never seen it. But Kelsey Grammer's version is often on C5 or sometimes C4 in days running up to Christmas so if it happens to be on, don't resist the urge to watch it!

I will if you will ;)

Dear Gods. I just had to suffer this in school (long boring story). The most exciting thing was the snippy Sotto voce comments from the teachers at the back (nit to the kids). "He means Belle, not Emily" "whoo that's a bit Fiddler on the roof (Marleys ghost)" "Don't write that the ghost of Christmas past did a pole dance round his bedpost"and the kids groaning at yet another song.
If you've seen Scrooged (the best Christmas film) the tv spectacular in that springs to mind.

ParadiseLaundry · 09/12/2017 10:05

IHeart, you have yourself a deal Smile

OhWhatFuckery, GrinGrinit is EXACTLY the TV special from Scrooged! I thought that myself when I watched Scrooged last year. You can't beat a bit of overly sentimental American saccharine at Christmas (complete with dodgy cockney accents!) Although no doubt I would feel the same in your position!

I bloody love the Kelsey version. The musical score is great and I always get ‘shiney’ eyes at the end Grin

I was in a stage version of this last year.
The stage show is way better than the film.

I don't know this show. But I think Alan Menken's finest moment is Newsies

I got told off by DD for my continuous singing of "Mr Fizzy wigs Annual Christmas ball" in November, I can't help it. I absolutely love it!
