My elderly aunt has asked for suggestions for DS. She doesn't do internet shopping at all. I asked DS, but he has not been helpful. I was tempted to reply that he will get nothing

Budget - not sure, but probably up to about £40.

Interests; computer gaming on his PC, and ...um...that's about it. Hence the problem. Definitely not interested in clothes, toiletries or sport.

Maybe board games? we have lots already, but new suggestions welcome.

Pandemic board game is very good and probably suitable for this age.

Stompythedinosaur · 07/12/2017 22:21

Gift card for Game?

Stompythedinosaur · 07/12/2017 22:22

Or tbh some cash in a card would probably go down well.

Would she be willing to get a Love To Shop voucher from the Post Office? Alternatively what's the budget?

LockedOutOfMN · 07/12/2017 22:24

Does he need a controller or any physical gaming equipment that she might be able to find in a store like Game?

traviata · 07/12/2017 22:25

these are all good ideas, thanks. A voucher is the fall-back.

Thanks invisimamma but we had pandemic and did not like it so much. Any other board games you rate?

Budget probably about £40

Would he find a desk calendar fun? The ones that have a page for each day with a cartoon on each one? Or a wall calendar? I expect they make them with computer game themes?

traviata · 07/12/2017 23:01

maybe so lockedout, thanks. The mandala/puzzle ones are quite good, or a daily funny.

Have you heard of Potion explosion board game? Its pretty unique and quite fun although not sure how easy to get in normal shops. Otherwise catan or carcasonne are good ones.

If he likes PC games how about a set of snacks (B&M have pringle crackers for example), you could add some of his favourite drinks/chocolates and then steam voucher as they sell the digital games.

traviata · 07/12/2017 23:31

more good ideas, thanks.

steam voucher = online shopping!

I am thinking that a cinema voucher plus a board game could work.

traviata · 08/12/2017 09:47
