What to buy for elderly PIL?

I did lovely hampers last year with scrummy consumables but they were left uneaten so I don't want to do that again.

MIL has early Alzheimer's so even a book is out now as it is too taxing for her. I was thinking about slippers for her and a blanket as no matter the temperature she is always cold.

FIL I'm stumped on, perhaps slippers too? He doesn't drink but does like reading but vouchers are out.

What are you getting your PIL?

Someone on another thread got a down gilet for her always cold FIL and he never takes it off. Perhaps not the kind of thing MIL would wear?

Lots of beautiful bird books they might enjoy dipping in and out of. DH and I often look up birds when we're watching them at the feeder. (We're 40s and use our phones!)

I don't think she would use a book CD. She never has before and finds it hard to do new things now. She has the radio on for company which she seems to like. This thread is quite sad really as it shows how much she has lost. Sad

Glad you like the idea. Hope it works well.

Uniqlo down gilet - I have bought for more than one male relative and they basically never take them off. Looks utilitarian enough that they might actually use them and properly warm
