Douglas Fir needles seem really weak!

Have bought a gorgeous Douglas Fir tree, pick your own so definitely only just cut down. It smells FABULOUS and is siting in the garden in water waiting to come in next week. Anyway...

When I pull at the needles they come away really easily, and they tear like grass. I'm really worried I've bought a duffer! Such a shame if so because I love it!

Googling tells me very little, except that there is such a thing as Douglas Fir Midge and now I'm panicking as there were some weird little flys around where we got it from.

I've gone from being really excited , to fretting about not wanting to bring it in.

Anyone had one of these before and can reassure me?

It says here that they should have good needle retention www.telegraph.co.uk/gardening/how-to-grow/what-is-the-best-real-christmas-tree/
Hopefully yours will be ok

I hope so! Oh god I always get stressed about this. I once had a tree that was entirely bald by christmas day and the memory haunts me Grin
