Pot-grown Christmas trees - any good?

I am thinking of getting a pot grown tree this year, in the hopes that, over the years, it will grow and flourish, and I’ll be able to use it each year.

Does anyone have any experience of these - do they survive and grow, and where would you get one from?

I like a big tree in the front room, so plan to get a cut one too, for there, and use the growing one in the conservatory.

I saw one in Asda but it was a bit short!

We looked into it this year but just couldn’t find one over 4ft

They've got some in Sainsbury's for £10. I'm not sure if that's a good price or not but they're very Am a.

Wilkos had them yesterday in a couple of different sizes.

Sorry posted too soon, they were £18 or £25 for the smallest size £18 for a spruce or £25 for a Nordman fir I think.

We had one which lasted two years. It got a bit dry last year which finished it off, sadly.

We've gone for a pre-lit fake this year. Far more reliable!

I bought a tiny one going cheap at Lidl (or somewhere) a few years ago. It lives in the garden, spends 3 weeks in an overheated classroom and then 2 weeks in the house. It suffers a bit from the heating but recovers well over the summer. It is now 3 feet tall. I repot it every so often but will probably leave it now as I want to be able to still transport it to and from school.

We've just got a 5ft one from an independent tree farm. It needed repotting straight away. They said to increase the pot by at least 2 litres a year and it should grow just under a foot a year. After 2-3 years, put it in the ground.

Thank you for that information. I was assuming I could keep the tree in a pot for years, but obviously I am wrong about that. I'm glad I asked before buying a tree.
