On the basis that vegans are generally "care about the environment" kind of people.

Coffee cup could work thank you. He drinks coffee (I think) but not alcohol

If you want food then Holland and Barrett sell some lovely vegan chocolate truffles. Charbonnel and Walker maple brazils are also vegan and amazing. Bag of nice coffee (and a reusable mug as above). Chilli jam. Loads of stuff actually along that line like chutneys etc.

What about some good quality organic tea? Or some meditation or yoga book?
