Gifts for 30 nursery staff!!!

Help! My dd's attend two different childcare settings and currently spend time in the baby room, toddler room and preschool room so a lot of staff are involved in looking after them. Probably about 20-25 staff over both nurseries. What Can I get them for a small INEXPENSIVE gift? They are all amazing so wanted to do more than the normal box of chocs but no time for homemade things and on a limited budget. Was thinking maybe bulk buy bath bombs/ soap and put in to little bags but can't find anything suitable and I'm running out of time!

I go in with other parents and buy them a catered breakfast and/or lunch depending on the number of parents who participate. That way no employee is excluded and it's affordable. I do give cash to those who work directly with my child. Other parents give vouchers but I prefer to give cash so they aren't restricted by where they can spend it.

For breakfast we do bagels, cream cheese and coffee.

For lunch we do Mexican because that is what is affordable here. The big catering trays go a long way. Something like salad and two lasagnes (one veg and one meat) would go down well here.

I'm doing a hamper for the staff room- hot chocolate, nice teas and coffee, panettone, biscuits, fresh fruit etc. Cost effective if you want a gesture for lots of people and hopefully something there for everyone.

I don't really know enough of the parents to organise something like that unfortunately

Hampers a good idea.. just worry cost would mount up quite quickly!

In the very nicest way - don't be ridiculous you can't do 25/30 gifts it will cost a fortune and drive you insane.

Something for each room to share is the way to go.

Although now I think about it you could buy them all a scratch card?

What's your budget ?

I bought 3 for 2 gifts in boots of lip balms hand creams etc and opened them up and backed them in a box with some biscuits / chocolates etc so they could do lucky dip
I have also done a case of wine as they have xmas drinks at the Nursery on the last day pre xmas once the kids have left

I did a lucky dip. Lots of little presents plus a couple of tubs of celebrations chucked in.

A set of nice teas?

We are sending one of these to DD2's nursery and one to DD1's before & after school club. We did Krispy Kreme last year, but worried that it would get wasted if staff couldn't eat all the doughnuts in time. With this box they can save some till the new year.

RJ, I feel you may be correct! Just wanted to do something different. They are all so lovely

I've done Christmas socks before 1 pair each or like I said I ve also done bath bomb or candle

But now I just do for the staff in the room and made a massive hamper when they leave in the summer and they have less presents

Buy a box of chocolates/biscuits for each room if you must, 30 presents is ridiculous. No offence but they’re doing a job they get paid for they don’t need presents from every child in their care on top of that

I'd go for a hamper nice coffee tea bags chocolates biscuits sweets etc

It's lovely of you but I honestly think you can downgrade and still show your appreciation to them.

I've just done my 2 adult DDs a massive box of chocolate brownies each to take into work for their birthdays. thehappyfoodie.co.uk/recipes/chocolate-brownies. Cost about a tenner for the ingredients for 2 huge batches, and cut into small squares as its very rich. You can also make cheats fudge easily (melting chocolate into condensed milk) or chocolate truffles, that you just put into little petit four cases. I always think people appreciate something home made, shows a bit of effort and takes less than an hour.

I thought the scratch cards suggestion was a joke - are you serious?

Last year for teacher gifts I bought a Christmas scratch card and put in a cellephane bag with a few roses/celebrations each then tied up with ribbon and my dd wrote her name on the tag. Went down well, v little effort and was pretty cheap. Only had 6 to buy for though so would work out pretty expensive for you, maybe just buy for your child's key worker?

I work in a preschool and honestly we don't expect anything. but if u wanted to give something a box of biscuits would be very much appreciated by us especially in the run up to Christmas when we are trying to teach preschoolers new christmas songs and doing lots of xmas activities 😂 the stress can drive you to biscuits 😆😆

For that number of staff I'd just get a nice box of biscuits/chocolates for the staffroom, maybe with a variety box of nice teabags. You can't possibly buy 25+ non-tat gifts for less than £50.

Ok.... I shall take advice and go with biscuits. Nice ones tho! :)
