We already go out to lunch weekly (depending on her and dads health and mine to be honest)

Re dementia mums - smell and music have been found to be the most enduring memories. Load an iPod with music they love, particularly from their teens, give them something that smells "happy" to them? Also the dementia blankets with different textures and colours and pieces to fidget with are very popular.
