Jigsaws. She’s housebound and still enjoys them (even though she needs to use a magnifying glass to see the pieces)

Boopear · 30/11/2017 19:15

Game of Thones S7 (as requested Grin)

And afternoon tea voucher at posh local hotel and cashmere snood thing from Turtle Doves.

SallyOMalley · 30/11/2017 19:15

An annual subscription for her favourite magazine.

secondhoneymoon · 30/11/2017 20:02

Magazine subscription here too, also for 80+ year old. Plus a jigsaw, a book, DVD about lovely gardens. Calendar & diary at her request. Then stocking fillers, mainly practical things she'll use up

secondhoneymoon · 30/11/2017 20:04

Oh and some mini jams and chutneys so she gets a variety.

Mildpanic · 30/11/2017 20:08

Strictly Come Dancing tour tickets, she is mad about it.
Might also look into Joanna Lumley tour as she pretty much has all stuff she wants.

stoptheclock1000 · 30/11/2017 20:12

A CD/tape/radio so she can play her old tapes! A marble angel and beauty salon vouchers

dementedma · 30/11/2017 20:13

So far Cashmere wrist warmers from TurtleDoves. Don't know what else....

AJPTaylor · 30/11/2017 20:35

My mum, 78, fitbit Alta.

Lobsterquadrille2 · 30/11/2017 20:43

My mother is 87 and very active - I've in the past got her: tickets to a ballet, a manicure, a hair appointment (she goes every week), hand cream, face cream, lunch for two (with my father), framed photograph of my DD. I used to buy a piece of Lladro but she requested no more "things" a few years ago.

MinkowskisButterfly · 30/11/2017 20:52

A mug with the grankids mugs on it, a bottle of her favourite perfume and some chocolates.

Stompythedinosaur · 30/11/2017 20:56

I'm getting my mum the ancestry.com DNA testing kit, a photo calendar of the kids and a mini photo book of a holiday we took together last year. The kids will also make a decoration or something. And a copy of the kid's school photo in the size she wants.

Sadly lost mine too, very suddenly if I could go back I would have absolutely spoiled her rotten!! I was student and didn't earn much but I should have saved every penny to spoil her, she was devoted mother. I always appreciated her deeply but since seeing Mil in action... Wow... Spoil your mums!

BitOutOfPractice · 30/11/2017 21:25

Aww I will. I'm sure she knew she was loved and appreciated Thanks

Ferret Rocher
Is this a cute but slightly smelly choc with bite.

Scoose · 30/11/2017 21:25

My mum is ‘quirky’ I have bought her a massive spider necklace from tatty Devine and a Christie’s the jewellery archives book (she wanted both of these) also getting a little something else possibly Clarins shower mousse

Scoose · 30/11/2017 21:27

My mum is 58 and gets more eccentric with age 😂

BitOutOfPractice · 30/11/2017 21:28

I'd never even heard of wrist warmers or bee hotels before

Etsy have lots of antique/vintage books for great prices! I want to get my mum a vintage copy of The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe, which is her favourite Smile

annandale · 30/11/2017 21:29

A glamorous walking stick from Emilyhannah and some bb cream to try. We have similar skin and it's really improved my life.

wellhonestly · 30/11/2017 21:32

I'm buying mine a watch that she'll be able to read the numbers on - I've noticed she's always squinting at her current watch as it has a shiny face and she can't always make out what the time is!

IDoAllMyOwnStunts · 30/11/2017 21:33

Tickets to The Nutcracker ballet.

Abetes · 30/11/2017 21:34

Birdbox and bird feeders.
