3 year old's Christmas list dilemma

The kids presented me with their Christmas lists this morning, no surprises on there thankfully as they'd already told me what they would like.

Except dd's wish for a baby doll she can bathe has changed to a baby doll that can cry.

I already bought the baby that can be bathed... and it does not cry! I bought it ages ago so it can't be returned.

So do I

A) try and change her mind (she won't forget)

B) just buy the second doll as her santa present. Two dolls is excessive though right?

I always find that they are very easy to influence at that age. I would be talking lots about how exciting it would be to give baby doll a bath and how you wonder whether Father Christmas and the elves would be able to make a special doll like that..

She's 3... so be creative. I'm sure she will love her doll but if she says it doesn't cry just say that she is such a happy baby she doesn't feel like crying.

Tiny Tears is a blast from the last! There was also the one that pooed out 'baby food' yuk!

Could you re-gift the other doll to someone else? Or save it for a birthday? You still have a few weeks to try and use the suggestions of trying to change her mind, but you know her best. A few people in a similar situation have sold unused presents on Facebook - you might even be able to swap it for a crying baby. But crying baby toys can easily become tiring! Interested to see what happens

If I want to influence my 4 year old I accidentally put on YouTube videos relating to the item. Works like a charm. She wanted a reborn doll like her cousin, and I put on Baby Born videos and then she really wanted a Baby Born instead. Show videos of dolls being bathed. Bingo.
