What do you put your Christmas tree in?

We are having a real tree this year for the first time as we now finally have the space. What do you put it in? My Mum said to put it in a bucket and cover the bucket with wrapping paper but I think this looks a bit naff. Any other ideas please?!!

I don’t think a tree would stand up by itself in a bucket? Best to buy a proper stand for it, there are plenty online. Depending on where you get your tree they will probably sell them too (although likely to be more expensive than Amazon). We’ve had a wooden box one for years which has been on its last legs thanks to DH bashing the shit out of it every year when securing the tree. All part of the festive season though eh?!

We always have a real tree and stand it in a v large pot where it is held upright and in place with large stones wedged all around it. It's never fallen over yet, even when the kittens climbed it one year!! In garden centres you can get these large pots that are actually quite light but look like proper heavy earthenware - much nicer than the wrapping paper option

Tree stand here, like this. We have a red table cloth we cover it with.

Is your tree in mud or has it been cut?

If in mud, keep in plant pot and cover with paper/ drape fabric if you like

If cut, the stands like the green one pp has above are fab.

I Have the same stand as Rogan, it is brilliant, tree in, lock in place and job done. We wrap a piece of fabric around it.

we have a wicker christmas tree skirt- always looks nice,

we usually get a potted tree, that we hope will live till the following year, so far, so unsuccessful , however, we dont get dreadful needle drop when its indoors

the stand that RoganJosh linked to - bought about 5 years ago and it is best thing ever for real tree. prior to this we used to wedge in bucket with bricks

Ours always goes in a big bucket full of wet gravel. I then cover the bucket with red foil paper. It doesn't look at all naff, at least we don't think so, and it helps to keeps the tree fresh.
