Not the turkey, but had a roast chicken dinner today and boiled the carcass with veg for a decent stock and easy gravy. Just waiting for it to cool sufficiently to freeze. Anyone else already filling the freezer?

I have post thanksgiving turkey stock in the freezer.

However it’ll probably just be two of us for Xmas so I don’t think we’ll be having turkey

No, haven't started the cooking, but I am ahead on eating the Christmas chocolates.

I’ma bit late as the sprouts should be in by now shouldn’t they?

I'm with you puckingfixies!!4 selection boxes and untold amounts of Aldi Florentines have mysteriously gone missing!!! Hmm

I have pumpkin chunks prepared and frozen (from halloween) for roasted root veg. There were no bones in our thanksgiving turkey this year (went with pre-prepared M&S stuffed turkey slices) so no stock in advance. (And DH just announced he only wants a crown this year to reduce waste - what waste?! - so no stock afterwards either!😪).

I've got mincemeat maturing, for mince pies. And sloe gin maturing too, for quiet slurping. Wine is bought and stored away.

But not a lot else done for the meal itself yet.

Oh, breadcrumbs made and frozen😂

NotAPuffin · 27/11/2017 10:03

I made little individual christmas cakes, then ate half of them and had to put the rest in the freezer to stop myself finishing them. Does that count?

I'm making a serious start on it at the weekend though: gingerbread stuffing, black pudding and apple stuffing, whipped brandy butter, cranberry sauce, bread sauce pudding and maybe some bacon jam.

I’ve consumer tested the Waitrose stollen bites, and am thinking of getting the sprouts on soon! Xmas Grin

DH bought apple stolen from somewhere, probably lidl or aldi - wouldn't recommend it, but probably do need to buy a regular one just to compare ...

The Christmas wine has also mysteriously disappeared and the Christmas baileys has been tampered with...
