Andy’s adventure kit - ideas?

DS aged 5 is obsessed with Andy’s adventures in cebeebies. I was thinking if doing an explorer/adventurer kit for him. I’ve got the kiddizoom camera already and thought about binoculars etc. Any other ideas of what to include and where to buy? Tia

My DD is into dinousar adventures too and I've wondered about repurposing a clock for her like the grand father clock in the museum!! It would be quite an ambitious project though!

Re the bag .. a field notes booklet with dinosaur facts, a journal? The last one we watched had a whoopy cushion in it.

A magnifying glass. I've also seen some cheap sets in place like The Works (I think...) which are like dinosaur bones buried in sand or rock that you have to dig for which might be fun.

Walkie talkies perhaps, and a torch?

liquidrevolution · 25/11/2017 21:50

Walkie talkies are half price in the Mothercare sale at the moment. Also check out the magazine as it often has cool stuff free with it.

My DS has this "Andy waistcoat" and he loves it.

Thanks for all the great ideas.
That nhm t-shirt is brilliant as is the cargo vest. Not sure budget stretches to either though. He’s got a torch and magnifying glass already.

Regression a replica clock wwohldbe amazing. Not sure my craft/diy skills extend that far though!

I second the walkie talkies idea. We got these and they've been a lot of fun, with new games invented like hide-and-seek with clues...

bookgirl1982 · 26/11/2017 04:29

Notebook/sketch pad? Some model Dinosaur or animals?

TheDrsDocMartens · 26/11/2017 07:45

Snack box/drink bottle

Penguinbeaver · 26/11/2017 08:15

The Works did a den building kit which looked really good

This is such a good idea OP, I might steal this idea for Andy's Dinosaur Adventures loving ds2 (almost 4). He hates dressing up though so will pass on those ideas.

I've been eyeing up these little dinosaur skeletons since he enjoyed playing with them at a museum...

If you're near a shoe shop then always check in there for a suitable backpack, and maybe an umbrella? (Useful!).

I think I'll get him a magazine too as he already has those Binatone walkie talkies and a magnifying glass from ds1.

I have found a few items on Etsy and Amazon. In particular, a giant poster of the grandfather clock time machine and also some dinosaur iron-on patches, so you can make your own Andy's costume.
