Why can I buy the postman?

Our postman is brilliant and I usually stick a fiver in a card as a Christmas tip. It doesn’t seem enough though really and a bit impersonal.

Any ideas?

How do you actually give the tips? Our postman usually delivers mid-morning when no-one is in. Bin men are early, but not sure how I'd give it: keep an eye out then run out with a card? They're quick!

Christmas card with £10 for postman and £20 for dustmen, sellotaped to bin in the morning, or we lurk to grab them!

We give our postman a £20 tip in cash. Just hand it to him when we see him in the days leading up to Christmas. Our postman is fab and knows everyone on the street, he’s a really nice chap always has a smile and stops to chat.

My postie is fab. Last year I gave him £20 as he was off over Christmas due to a fall. Previous years I have given him home made gifts which he loved. He really appreciates the gesture and he makes our life so much easier as he will leave parcels in the garage and we never have to go to the sorting office. I hope he never leaves.
