Cards wrote out and the ones that needed posting are gone. Handful of gifts left to wrap. Only 6 photo frames to buy. A parcel to pick up from Argos and then the tree to put up. Feeling quite chilled about it this year and it's my 1st as a single parent.

Wrap DS presents
Wrap DH presents (and buy a couple more)
Put tree up and decorate house- 9th December
Food to sort- have ordered a capon and a stand pie, DH has made a Christmas cake. Otherwise not done much food sorting yet.
Cards done but not posted yet, will post 4th December and everyone else’s presents are all bought and wrapped.

Think I've bought about 4 presents.
Don't write cards, getting a tree on the 10th, dp has ordered the meats and has booked a food shop. Oven cleaner is coming the day I break up from school.
That's about it for preparation.

ToothTrauma · 25/11/2017 17:03

I bought one present in March (I know, but it was a now or never moment) and I haven’t done anything since Grin

Glumglowworm · 25/11/2017 17:50

Buy brandy to keep feeding the cake

Make mincemeat (but I have 2 jars left from last year)

Buy and write cards

Finish sewing my mums gift

Finish several small sewn gifts

Bake Christmas treats

Put my tree and decorations up

Buy a few gifts

Notonthestairs · 25/11/2017 18:11

Everything plus move house and locate tree and decorations from storage.

AdoraBell · 25/11/2017 19:58

Got stepDIL present today, and another small thing for stepson because DH forgot that he’s already bought him a present Hmm

DH is delivering his family’s presents next week.

I don’t envy you moving house Notonthestairs

Everything. I will begin Christmas prep during Advent. Just found the Saltire bunting and bought the haggis for St Andrew's Day on Thursday.

oldlaundbooth · 25/11/2017 20:13

Bought a few pressies already and cake is done.

Fortunately we're not hosting this year thank god.

OhHolyFuck · 25/11/2017 20:14

Buy crackers
Buy works secret Santa
Buy DSs cousin 1 present
Put decorations up
Do a bit more wrapping - 10ish presents
Send one present at post office
lose 8 stone

Think that's it....

snowmanshoes · 25/11/2017 21:01

Both dd's presents bought and some wrapped that are in thesack up the loft, left still to sort (remember where put) and wrap.
Finished dh's presents today.
Still got my parents to get and no ideas
In-laws sorted
Niece/nephews bought but not wrapped
Cards bought but not written
New tree decorations bought so feeling a bit more festive today
Actually still quite a bit, so don't want to think about it anymore lol....

XmasStartsInNovember · 26/11/2017 01:15

I've brought about half the gifts I need to. I'm making up hampers for about 10 people, so need to make the food to go in those.
Half my cards are written, need to buy some more to write the rest. Need to make mincemeat, buy the rest of the presents and wrapping paper.
Tree will go up around the 15th, so I'll probably get the wrapping done then.

HollyBollyBooBoo · 26/11/2017 04:15

Wrap the last few pressies

Put tree and decs up

Post/deliver cards (they're written)

Buy beef wellington for Xmas day

I try to do as much as early as possible as from 1st Dec onwards it's just crazy with DD school and club Xmas events, work dos, family get togethers etc.

RosyWelshcakes · 26/11/2017 04:36

Absolutely nothing. I’m currently thousands of miles away from home staying with a dying friend and for the time being everything is about them.

I do know though that that one of my girls has done the Christmas Cake but apart from that everything else can be done when I’m home. It shouldn’t be long now.

But to be honest I never get in a tizzy about Christmas and if anything is bought in November it’s usually because someone is going to the UK and I give them a shopping list.

I’m usually happy to leave things a few more weeks but this year I’m not really thinking about it - even though I’m looking forward to it a lot.

metalkprettyoneday · 26/11/2017 04:37

Not started either.

Wayfarersonbaby · 26/11/2017 09:12

I need to exchange some slippers I got for DD which are too small; and do some final wrapping of family presents.

Cards - have got but not written yet.

Presents - most bought, apart from a final couple of bits for DD, and something for DH who I've not thought about yet.... Have wrapped most family presents, but not DD's, which is the big wrapping job.

Have started to get a few bits of Christmas food, but haven't yet sorted the big food shop (though we live v near a sainsbury's, so I'm not too fussed about booking an online slot).

I've got bits and pieces of other things to organise - PTA Christmas event stuff, little presents for friends' kids to wrap, and I need to sort through our decorations as we have too many and I plan to pass some of the surplus ones on to school for one of their trees.

Need to sort out DD's advent box with Christmassy pyjamas, and so on.

Then just need to declutter and clean whole house, put up decorations, organise work and Christmas events for December, and two trips away to see relatives....aaarrghhhh!

ClashCityRocker · 26/11/2017 10:23

I put the tree up yesterday (I would normally do it later next week but we have a few things on the next weekends).

I think I'm about halfway there with the presents - main ones are sorted and have a day booked off for the rest.

Turkey is ordered. Need to get some new plates as none of ours match, and may possibly convert an old duvet cover into a table cloth.... Or buy one.

Nothing wrapped yet. Need to crack on with that to be fair.

sinceyouask · 26/11/2017 10:25

Buy presents. Buy food. Sort out what leave days dh and I are taking. Everything really, but there's weeks to go yet so I'm not fussed.

Aweektilltheseason · 26/11/2017 10:40

Well it was coming on to say smugly not much, but cards... Need to write cards!! Otherwise dh and dc are 90% done. Relatives are nearly done too.
Lots of exciting festive stuff lined up.
