Besides the higher cost of the kids one!

Thanks

Think the tablet itself is the same... But you get the kids case (normally about £20), year subscription to the kids content (normally £2 month if you're on prime) and 2 year warranty.

Less inappropriate advertising on the kids.

I bought the normal one for my ds as I wanted to use it too. It showed adverts for GTA games, COD and other 18+ including game footage and video clips that were not appropriate for an 8 year old. (shooting, stabbing, running people over, tying them up etc)

It also recommended 50 shades of grey to him to read as a 'kindle recommended read' on the main kindle library page. Luckily he asked me whether its was ok for him to read.

Okay, thanks.

We already have prime, so wondered whether I was just paying for that on top.

I know you can buy the normal tablet for £10 extra without the ads on.

Kids one also has a 2 year warranty where it will be replaced if they stand on it. Plus the case.

You can use the amazon for kids app on the 'adult' version to have full parental control and restrictions to age appropriate games, books, movies etc. Not sure about the ads at startup though. I just bought the adult 8" version with case (not kids case though), screen protector and extra 32gb memory card for £84. I'll need to pay 1.99 per month though for amazon kids but still thought it was a good deal for dd. She had a 7" kids version and she doesn't like the "babyish" case - this way she will feel like she has a grown up tablet but it will still be 'locked down".
