I was planning to surprise dh this year with a lovely fairly expensive lego set, I dutifully ordered it and it got delivered next door who kindly held it for me as dh was at home.

I've since retrieved the gift and wrapped it whilst he was at work and cut the shockingly identifiable delivery box up into tiny pieces for the recycling bin

In my rush I left the invoice on the top of the recycling bin and he's seen it.... I'm so annoyed with myself I feel like sending it back grrrr

Anyone else been rumbled this year?

Not yet. DH would never guess a lego set though!

DH knows what he's getting for Xmas - because he went and bought it himself last night. He shall get a Toblerone and a pair of thermal socks on Xmas morning. And count himself lucky.
33 years in, the mystery of Xmas is somewhat spent between us (apart from the obvious mystery of where money for the adult dcs Xmas pressies is coming from).
I shall transfer the cold hard cash of equivalent value from the joint account to my own coffers, to put towards my face lift spring break.

I mean he's already using his Xmas present due to a sudden breakdown of his tech. I don't mean that the Toblerone/socks is his entire present. That would be mean.

Not me but my sister’s husband also found the expensive, much wanted but never got as a child Lego set that she bought her husband. It’s not the train is it?!

Nicpem1982 · 22/11/2017 17:58

It's the station he had the train last year!
