I might get one for DS2 (9) too.

What shall I get? Probably analogue without too many buttons to fiddle with.

Swatch?

Lorus do some lovely, reasonably priced, watches for boys.

Is he sporty?

Not analogue but my 12yo loves his Garmin which he's had a few years. It's waterproof, hardy and has all the fitness tracking benefits like distance and steps. I think it's the Forerunner model which is nit a huge watch, fine for a child.

Casio G-shock watches are good and they have lots of designs and color variants to choose from.
