The Norway spruce will be a skeleton tree by the end of Christmas.

The Nordmann costs more, but won't drop it's needles. Ours lasts from the end of November to Twelfth Night every year.

I like to get the tree done on the 1st of December, so do you think the spruce wouldn’t last 3 weeks and a few days?

I always buy Spruce for the smell. You have to saw off the end and keep it in water outside for a few days/ week and it looks good for weeks. You get needle drop ( I quite like the way the hoover smells Christmasy afterwards) but unless you buy something cut months ago it's fine. I like the branches better for hanging things too.

I don't like the look of Nordmanns as they too bushy, don't smell and are horribly expensive.

We always have Nordmanns, the shape suits our space, they don't drop much (we have a stand that holds water) and they smell lovely.
