Drayton Manor Park Magical Christmas

We are heading to Ireland at Christmas and are thinking of stopping off and staying at Drayton Manor en-route to get the ferry.

What's Drayton Manor Christmas like, any tips? My kids are 7 and 5 and the youngest still into Thomas.

We did this a couple of years ago and have booked again for this year (my two are 8 and 6). I know the queues for Santa can get crazy, so if you're including this definitely try and get an early slot. They only have Thomasland (perfect for the ages of your 2: plenty of rides which are exciting without being scary!) and a couple of other rides open so it's perfect for younger ones. There's also the 3d cinema, iceskating (plastic rink) and the zoo and outdoor play areas, you can easily fill a full day there. We weren't too impressed by the fireworks, but it was chucking it down when we saw them so that may have been a factor, but we wouldn't necessarily stay for them again.
