When do you out the presents out?

Do you leave it until Christmas eve or have them there constantly under the tree? I have dcs so will be doing it on Christmas eve so they don't get bashed about. My mum would always wait until Christmas eve and if we ever accidentally found the presents she would say they were for somebody else

Definitely Christmas mornings when everyone is up. Late Christmas evenings, everyone is just too tired and we usually sleep early on those days. :)

We put ours to grandparents under the tree when they are wrapped and ready to go. In our house Father Christmas only brings to children. Our DD’s go out last thing on Christmas Eve.

Christmas Eve, partly to avoid the dog getting interested and partly because my son's birthday is on 23rd so we try to keep the present side of things slightly low key until that has passed, to avoid over-shadowing his birthday too much.

We usually wrap on Xmas Eve with mulled cider. First one looks like a Kirsty Allsop special. The later ones like Moz the Monster has done it

presents from family and friends go under the tree as we get them, the dc presents from santa and us get put out after the dc have gone bed on Christmas eve

Presents from other people go under the tree as soon as the postie brings them. I used to hide everything until Christmas Eve but now our DCs are grown up we put gifts out. But our own presents to each other do still materialise on 24th.

Will put stuff under the tree when it goes up but Santa's just before adults go to bed on Christmas eve.

I put the presents under the tree once DC are asleep Christmas Eve night. Any earlier and DS will open everything, plus growing up we would come down to find everything magically appearing Christmas morning.

On Christmas Eve.

Before we go to bed on Xmas eve, dc are 8, 6 and 5 so still fully believe in Santa. We also spread chocolate coins everywhere so it looks like they fell out of Santa's pocket, and it looks even MORE like that once the cats have patted them around the laminate floor like hockey pucks

Christmas Day morning here , all adults here but if we put presents out earlier the dog unwraps them .

Ours go under the tree as and when they’re wrapped and do do ones we receive from people before Xmas.
DM puts everyone’s under her tree when they’re wrapped other than mine, Dsis’s and DF’s. Even though we’re both adults and have left home, she still puts them in our santa sacks from when we were kids and brings them down on Christmas Eve night. Love it.

I should add- we aren’t lucky enough to have kids yet, but when we do, I don’t think I’d but those ones under the tree as and when they’re wrapped, I think I’ll copy what DM does.

Christmas Eve for the ones from us. Gifts from friends and family go under the tree as they arrive.

All on Christmas Eve when ds is in bed. However, he is 6yo now so perhaps we could put them out when they arrive.

Having said that, my mum's and sister's have arrived already and the tree isn't even up!

Christmas Eve for DSD Santa leaves them on the sofa when she's fast asleep. All family presents go under the tree as they get wrapped.

The odd pressie from an aunt or uncle go under the tree as received.

All the pressies from us are from Santa so we put them out on christmas eve once the kids are in bed. They are put into three separate piles because a) we like it and b) our tree is huge and squished into a corner so they wouldn't fit under even if we tried!

If someone brings presents and kids see night put them under otherwise wait till Christmas Eve night .

In the wee hours of Christmas morning when the last hyperactive over-stimulated child has finally fallen asleep, so approximately two hours before the first one wakes.

Presents for DC get put out on Christmas Eve and presents for friends and extended family get put under the tree once they are wrapped.

Mine are teens but still love going to bed on Christmas eve with just the presents they are offering under the tree and then waking up to all the presents having magically appeared overnight.

Gets harder though as they stay up later and later. One year I dosed off waiting for them to sleep and awoke at 5.30 am in a panic. Mad dash around to fill stockings and get the presents in place in time!
DS 2 was up 5 mins after I finished.

Never again! I now see my alarm for 2am list in case the same thing happens again.
