...without seeming bonkers? I'm thinking 1 December...

Well 1st Dec would be the earliest but tbh it’s still very early imo. I send mine as close to the last posting date as possible.

I agree.

Advent Sunday is 3 December this year. Any cards arriving before then would be WAY TOO EARLY; after that it's efficiently early; if they arrive much after the posting deadline then it's squeakybum.

I'd say the first full week in December (ie 4-10/12) is about perfect, assuming inland UK.

One of DH's elderly relatives sends us our in October, so she doesn't miss the last post! But then she does seem absolutely bonkers by doing so!

The God of Christmas Nigel Slater says 9 December is still "a trifle too early". Grin

Wh0KnowsWhereTheTimeG0es · 16/11/2017 14:35

About a week into December, then they are arriving as the decorations go up.

TheOnlyPink · 16/11/2017 15:31

I post mine on the 8th. But we are in Ireland so the 8th is the official start of Christmas, it's fair game then!

JingsMahBucket · 16/11/2017 15:34

If you're sending any internationally, I would probably tack on a week or so.

Bigcomfyknickers · 16/11/2017 15:34

I have just posted mine. But then, we have just moved house, they all have stickers on n with our new address, I need to make sure we get some back!

QuopQuop · 16/11/2017 15:40

You could post them and write on the front "to be opened when it is socially acceptable to mention the C word"

bigbluebus · 16/11/2017 15:51

I've got one on my fireplace which arrived in October. In fairness it was from someone who was advising us that they will be living abroad for the winter so not to bother sending them a card and that they won't be sending cards in future years.

I would not post any cards until December personally.

confused123456 · 16/11/2017 16:11

We send at the beginning of December

GogoGobo · 16/11/2017 18:41

I time mine to arrive about a week before Christmas so Post 16th ish
