Christmas Party theme/Secret Santa ideas

I am helping organise our friends Christmas Party (which is a meal and drinks at a local restaurant in an area just for us) and we want to do either some sort of theme or a novelty secret Santa. Has anyone got any good ideas of things that have worked well?

Only thing I can think of is a secret Santa where whatever present you buy has to be something you wear & Christmas themed - novelty glasses, hat, borat type thong (seen Christmas ones in B&m ) that has to be worn for at least one course.

We are a fairly large group of friends and generally all up for a laugh. We don’t want full fancy dress as a theme as we tend to all dress up (posh dresses and smart suits) rather than Christmas jumpers for our annual night out.

We've done the something to wear, with a twist that it had to come from the pound shop, and it was lucky dip.

This year we're wearing wigs / hairpieces Smile

A table quiz can be fun, with a festive theme or tailored to the guests.

How about a Secret Santa where the gift has to start with the first letter of the persons name?

Secret Santa is easier if it's a lucky dip - saves a lot of organizing

Go with a Christmas theme,

We've done pound shop ones and charity shop only ones -

We pooled our secret Santa money which one person used to create a giant pass the parcel for us all to play. We got the waiter to do the music.

Some good ideas thank you. I like the sound of the pass the parcel one. And lucky dip secret Santa, much easier.

A quiz may work with our group too.

Another alternative would be a 'fill your own cracker' kit which Å·ou divvy out before the event for everyone to fill with hat, handwritten joke and small present. They bring it to the meal with them and place it at the table setting of the person whose name they drew.
