Looking for in based christmas cocktail to get MIL squiffy

MIL is overbearing and bossy. Thankfully only see her twice a year and usually a couple of days after christmas.
Under the influence of alcohol her demeanor changes, she relaxes and is much nicer to be around.
So I'm looking to hit her as soon as she arrives with something fairly alcoholic ( I know she likes gin).

Any christmas flavoured gin cocktail recipes?

Perhaps something with cranberry and triple sec? I like your thinking.

Sloe gin is pretty lethal. It's straight gin with sloe berries dissolved in it and is very moreish.

Gin is lovely with elderflower cordial

Wow- thanks so much for the responses.

No recipes but I do love the word squiffy Grin

I love the idea of sloe gin, or something with cranberry juice.

I may have to try them out beforehand- purely for research purposes of course.

Ophir Gin is lovely. Not sure on cocktails for it but Im happy with a large glass, lots of ice, tonic, lemon, lime and frozen berries

French 75. Gin with Champagne/prosecco mixer basically and a lemon garnish. She'll be trollied instantly.

Look on Bombay sapphire distillery website - gorgeous winter cocktail - gin, ginger ale, vermouth , lime, fresh ginger... so easy to drink will get her nice and squiffy super quick - plus she will totally love you for making it for her

We start the day with an expresso martini - cafeine and alcohol counteracts the effects of excited children waking up too earlier. Happy family :)

SleepingStandingUp ooh frozen berries- loving that idea.

I had a fab cocktail on holiday that was gin, cranberry juice and prosecco. It was absolutely delicious and it was very difficult to stop at two. Any more and I would have been hammered

yellowsun · 12/11/2017 14:50

It’s not gin based (I do love a French 75) but we are going to do these this Christmas.

In terms of gin, we like a gin sling or gin sour (gin, lemon juice, sugar syrup, angostura bitters and egg white).

Gin, elderflower cordial and apple juice. Gorgeous

yellowsun- that looks amazing.

My favourite gin cocktail has to be a Ramos fizz- heavy on the orange flower water.

You can get mulling spices for gin in asda, you could do a large jug of mulled gin punch.

Southernc0mfortmirror · 12/11/2017 15:03

Cinnamon vodka, apple juice and lemonade is nice and Christmassy. Add the vodka last so the gold flakes fall through the rest of the drink - looks great!

VittysCardigan · 12/11/2017 15:04

Sloe gin with warmed apple juice is a real winter warmer

MovingOnUpMovingOnOut · 12/11/2017 15:07

Sloe gin with lemonade. Quick, easy, Christmassy enough without being too much and delicious.

We call them pink snowballs Wink

Tom Collins every single time. I'm drooling just thinking about it now....

DandelionAndBedrock · 12/11/2017 20:00

Kir royale but made with sloe gin instead of cassis.

It's lethal!
