Do I need a Kinect and adapter to play Just Dance on XBox One S?

Posted in gaming but not much traffic so trying here.

Never bought a console before. I specifically wanted Just Dance for DD. Being and idiot I’ve just realised I think I need the Kinect and the adapter. TBH, I didn’t ever realise I was buying the S model, I thought it was just XBox One. Any ideas please?

Apparently there is an app for smartphones that you can use instead of kinect

We use our phones. Both iPhone and Android, so you should be okay if you have a smartphone.

Thanks. I rang Tesco and they agreed to take it back, but looking at the prices of other consoles and accessories I’m going to stick with it —and maybe test it with the app tonight—

We've got this for the ps4 and use the app. To be honest its more forgiving and you need a big space for Kinect. I think it's great
