What do 6 year old boys like?!

I've got a couple of girlfriends who I've known forever, and we always by something for each others' kids. We're spread all over the country so don't see each other much to know what the kids are really into, but it's just tradition.

Anyway, I can buy for preschool age and under, and girls, with ease. But I haven't a clue what 6 year old boys like.

Any ideas around the £10 mark?! Thanks!!

My 6 year old has asked for lego, hot wheels, Ben 10 figures. He also likes those masham figures.

Wow! Some cracking ideas in here, thanks ever so much.

I like the sound of science kits (and his dad will enjoy those for sure too 😅).

Thanks once again!!

OP,

Weirdly, the one I linked to is recommended as "8+" on one site, and "5+" on others. I'm sure with minimal adult supervision a 6yr old would cope fine, though!

Otherwise, there are plenty of similar alternatives (some far beyond a £10 limit, though, so you may need to look around). Or glow-in-the-dark slime making kits?

Also just remembered that another big hit last year was a creepy insect torch/projector (by Natural History Museum, I think. Around £6ish). 2 young boys had great fun scaring elderly relatives (whom I'd warned well in advance...we didn't want real coronaries at Christmas). A lot of fun hamming it up overacting from 80somethings!
