Is there anything you're flatly refusing to get the kids this year? I always avoid toilet-humour themed board games/story books/sweets and character toys.

My 8 year old daughter wants a drone ammmmmm nope not happening

I'm there with everyone saying
Hatchimals and chocolate coinmaker! Managed to avoid them last year but joy they have reappeared on this year's lists!

DS obsessed with paw patrol so may have to get overpriced large plastic thing. Grrrr!

My son wants a gekko too

We got DS a chocolate coin maker a couple of years ago as wouldn't stop talking about it. Don't get one, played with once, really fiddly and messy.

My DD wants the paw patrol lookout tower but won't be getting that due to budget/space.

That baby that shits noodles.

The kids run screaming from the TV whenever ‘the noodle baby’ appears.

JennyOnAPlate DSD wants one too because she sees orbeez on some serious fucking YouTube channel.

Cozmo- the £200 robot that will be fun for a day then shoved in a cupboard. Very quickly shot down that on the wish list

Expensive stocking fillers. Cheap Poundland store this year. We still have unused stocking filler stuff from last year. May look at more practical stuff too, bath stuff etc.

Santa is not bringing my DS1 the new CPU and Motherboard that he wants for his gamiing PC as DS1 will hopefully be moving out to go to Uni next year and wont be taking the PC and 3 screens with him. Santa has suggested that maybe DS1 would like a contribution to a new laptop instead.

Santa often had to explain via me that certain items were piles of shite and DSs may want to consider things suggested (and already purchased) by Santa/me instead...

And nerf guns never counted as gus in our house. Christmas is not complete with a full scale nerf battle in the house on Christmas day.

I would say Hatchimals... Then dd went to shops with aunt and aunt bought one for her birthday .. We have only just got rid of the Furby ARRGGGHHHH

I'm trying to sway dd away from the Lol doll big surprise after hearing that it's rubbish (£60 is crazy money), avoiding any plastic tat or magic sand and anything remotely messy.

Playmobil! Bought the police station last year because it was THE toy that DS really, really wanted. Has he played with it since I spent hours building it on Christmas Day in between running back and forth from the kitchen? No. It has sat in the living room collecting dust. This year he's asked for Ghostbusters...

MiL told me my niece would very much like the new expensive sheepskin rug I’ve just bought myself.
Sadly Santa won’t be delivering my niece one of these rugs, regardless of how much she wants it

Nintendo Switch and a PC for gaming. DCs do NOT need any more screen time in their lives

Argh! I came on to say freakabela and as I got to bottom of the active page this was the ad waiting for me! Nope, no way, visiting DC will be made to leave it outside the door too, I'm taking no chances of it finding it's way to the kitchen drawers

Luckily it's not been asked for yet, it's made me glad to be buying the waste of money that is lol doll Surprise!

Normally, other than due to cost, I try to go with what they want and if it's something I'm not fussed on then they know I won't be getting it for them, and I act outraged when father Christmas brings it there was probably plenty that I got as a child that my parents didn't like either. Normally I would try to steer them away from total wastes of money but this is the last year for DD I think so I've bought the lol doll surprise and made sure she knows it's out of stock everywhere, so hopefully it will help to keep it going this Christmas

Luvabella- its creepy and is like a cross between Chucky and Annabelle.

Just in case anyone is interested- there are Hatchimals on ebay for around £30. I only know because my friend told me- my children aren't interested (thankfully)

Jenny - my DD1 had an orbezz foot spa she used it twice I think then gave it to DD2 when she got oils enough.
I've hidden it in the warbrobe because those little balls break up and get bloody everywhere I was finding them weeks later.

I did have a go though and it does feel nice 😂😂.
