www.sensorytoywarehouse.com

Bigarse is this site any good? I've had some resources from here and they are really good quality.

glenthebattleostrich · 15/10/2017 10:38

Would your son enjoy music at all? I look after a little one who had difficulty with sensory processing and he loved listening to my calming yoga and meditation music.

deepblue · 15/10/2017 10:40

Has anyone seen any good deals on Schleich please? DD has asked for horse stuff. I'm thinking of getting her the advent calendar too.

Badders08 · 15/10/2017 10:42

Bigarse...maybe ask on the special needs topic?
Lots of very knowlwgable folk who I'm sure have faced a similar issue at Xmas...

bigarse would something to chew work for your DS.* Chewigem are worth looking at if so.* They make chewable necklaces etc (not a bargain but very good)

hmslfc · 15/10/2017 10:50

Bigarse1
Your son sounds similar to ours, when he was that age we bought him an 'egg' chair from Ikea, (£50 but we got a 2nd hand one from eBay for £20). It sort of closes him him so he feels safe I think and also spins if he enjoys that sensation. It's also plastic so wipes down easily, although he's inevitably in there with at least 1 blanket and 3 stuffed toys!

AlwaysOldBeforeMyTime · 15/10/2017 11:07

Can anyone recommend one of the wobble boards mentioned upthread please? They sound great but I’ve just googled and there’s so many I have no idea where to start!

BuffyFairy · 15/10/2017 11:36

@bigarse1 maybe a tuff tray? You can get them as just a tray or with legs and then can be used indoor or out for sensory activities and will hopefully keep the mess on the tray.

Or a Wobbel board - tend to be expensive but great quality and the whole family can use them.

Cuski mentioned above have super soft blankets. Not fluffy but gorgeous. My DD with possible SPD loves them.

wornoutboots · 15/10/2017 11:48

bigarse you can buy the magic sequin fabric so maybe sew that onto a blanket for him?

my 4 year old still likes to have an emergency foil blanket to play with, as does my 2 year old - sensory play, quite cheap on amazon (import) so probably ebay etc too, and take up hardly any room

gingerbreadmam · 15/10/2017 11:57

gingerbreadmam · 15/10/2017 12:08

i do love the nyx stuff.

not going to link cos i do crappy ones but i want one of those has money off lots of board games. seem to have every monopoly going inclusing citys football teams and popular tv shows.

ponygirlcurtis · 15/10/2017 12:12

QVC has the Molton Brown baubles right now - £25 + £5 p&p so works out at £10 each.

RedBlu · 15/10/2017 12:21

Re the Dyson hairdryer they have occasionally gone on “offer”. My DP got me one last year for Christmas and purchased it from John Lewis when they had it with £50 off, think it was about November.

To be honest, whilst it looks really nice - it’s a hairdryer! Doesn’t dry my hair any faster or make it look any better. It just looks pretty and dries hair!

PelvicFloorClenchReminder · 15/10/2017 12:22

Does the Disney Store ever do free delivery?

bunbunny · 15/10/2017 12:32

margarita my dc loved labyrinth and yahtzee at those ages (and still do!)

bananagrams, dobble and pass the pigs are also popular now (and I think would have been when they were younger if we had had them).

All of the games listed above have worked well with groups of their friends (so similarly aged) and at family gatherings with ages from primary school through to people in their 80s but also with 20 somethings and 40/50 somethings in the mix too.

Cupoteap · 15/10/2017 12:35

Wow new thread

Minster2012 · 15/10/2017 12:38

New thread placemarking! Thanks and gutted that boden code's probably been used by now!

lifelongfrugaleer · 15/10/2017 12:38

Thanks reastie

bunbunny · 15/10/2017 12:38

bigarse Asda usually have gorgeously soft christmas throws for £5 each - we've had them over several years and they are still going strong. My plan was to put them away after christmas and bring them out November/Decmeber time... ha. DS1 has used them on his bed all year around. Despite this they still look good as new.

Sometimes they call them throws, sometimes they call them microplushes or fleeces - but they usually have some with lovely jolly christmas patterns on which could be nice to be a really christmassy present.

Some of them are on here - not sure if there will be more added or if this is their full collection...

Methenyouplus4 · 15/10/2017 12:40

Bigarse- what about bubble bath/ toothbrushes&paste- not mega exciting but always get some for my kids as they'll alays be used.

Also, what about one of those claw type scalp massagers? Bit of a love/hate thing as sensation is strange but he may love it.

SantaStalker · 15/10/2017 13:06

De-Lurking for Thread 10! Thanks Reastie and team, yesterday I spent £70 and made a huge dent into my list just based on thread 9 intel Grin

butterflymum · 15/10/2017 13:06

We bought this as part of FIL's present last year, and it has been used beside his favourite chair (before, he would have placed his cup etc on windowsill as it was nearby):

side table

There are a few variations around. We bought ours via Amazon (and paid more than this Groupon offer, for what looks to be a very similar table).

butterflymum · 15/10/2017 13:12

Oops, posted above on wrong thread, but the suggestion might help someone here too.
