Just that, really. What do you aim for, if you prefer the simpler scandi type look.

Thanks!

I use 120 LED lights, colour optional, but for brightness I thing that is the least. Baubles is a matter of choice. None is an option. I use 6 or 7 on a 7 foot tree. Other decorations of course.

As many as you can cram on. We never count. Generally around 5 strings of lights - white and multi-coloured. I liked blue but the DCs vetoed them last year. Many, many baubles.

Can you tell I have no taste? Just plenty of enthusiasm!

I go for about 70-80 lights per foot of tree so would probably go for about 450 lights on a 6ft tree, probably about 3 baubles a branch as well; a shiny one on the inside to reflect the lights, a 'normal' one in the middle and a fancy one at the end, will miss out the middle one if the end one is a bigger one. But I have no style when it comes to Christmas, I use tinsel too!

Till its a mass of lights, baubles and all round sparkling fabulousness never too many sparkles

isthistoonosy · 14/10/2017 23:16

We 'fight' between the two loons as OH is swedish so a 7-8 foot tree gts two sets if lights (white), 8 - 10 strings of tinsel, and ad many baubals, decorations etc ad I can get away with.

I have a 1000 lights on my 6/7 ft tree and you always need more baubles than you think! I have tons and seem to add a few new ones each year

Thanks for the replies.

Quite a range of answers, I suppose I should have expected that!

Twice as much as you think.

Twice as many lights as you'd think.

Eleventy billion GrinGrinGrin
Another classy one here-I love tinsel too!!
I have loads of baubles/hanging ornaments, more ornaments than baubles actuallyGrinGrin
My tree is full of baubles/ornaments on the outside, with tinsel behind, then the lights in-between!!
But from this year, I`m starting to fill the tree with baubles/ornaments
on the inside too, next to the trunk of the tree IYSWIM!!
I normally buy 2-5 new baubles/ornaments a year as I see them,
they may cost me less than a £ but some cost me about £15 & anywhere in-between!!!

I think it also depends on if you have a real or fake tree, generally I think fake trees hold more weight whereas a real one droops if overfilled.
