I'm struggling with stocking fillers for my 2 year old. I know what I'm getting for her main presents but other than that I'm stuck!

Bath toys?
Books? Lidl recently had packs of tiny books in a set that could be split up so a couple fit in a stocking

A character cup/glass
Bath bubbles
Packet of chocolate buttons
Woolly hat/mitts
Sparkly tights/colourful socks
Small toys / musical instruments
Pencils/crayons
Small cuddly toy

My 2yr old is getting:
A holztiger animal (she gets one each Birthday/Christmas etc)
Shaker eggs (the musical things)
Chocolate coins
Satsuma

I think 2yr olds get a bit overwhelmed with too many things so just keeping it simple.

Stompythedinosaur · 14/10/2017 01:22

Bath animals
Bath crayons
Little musical instruments like shakers or hand bells
Packet of raisins
Bubbles
Plastic figure, either dinosaur, farm animal or from a favorite tv show (we did In The Night Garden figures).
Felt pens

SleepingStandingUp · 14/10/2017 01:25

Trains?

Asia has some on sale atm too as does Smyths, the magnetic Thomas ones.
Chocolates?
Plastic figures?
Small dolls?

Our Waterstones has a great stand with loads of wee things like this! I go there to get him little things for keeping him amused for weddings etc, I’ve got him:

  • a wiggly worm
  • a ‘magic art’ board, you draw on it and pull it out and it disappears (99p Grin)
  • wind up trains and cars
  • pull back car
  • wind up animals that jump/flip over/waddle
  • bouncy light-up ball

Don’t forget the satsuma! And obviously chocolate pennies.

Issummeroveryet · 15/10/2017 08:33

allthecake I read that chocolate penises! Blush great ideas thanks, will go and have a look in waterstones

Mine love puppets to go with stories. The puppet company have absolutely beautiful ones.

Totally recommend the Melissa and Doug dressing up outfits. Also any wigs, funny glasses all that type of thing.

Last year we put in character mugs.

At two yes definitely nice pants for when the time comes to train.

Worth just looking around the like of b&m and home bargains.

Potello · 15/10/2017 12:23

I'm also a bit stuck on stocking ideas for 2 year olds. I'm thinking

Bubbles
Chocolate coins
Peppa pig figures
Stickers
Character bubble bath and magic flannel
Cup/mug with a chocolate santa in for the top of the stocking

Like the pants idea, we are potty training after xmas so great idea.

So the big question me and dh disagree on, to wrap stocking presents or not?

TryingtobePrepared · 15/10/2017 12:33

Be careful with pants if not ready to potty train dd1 found some on 22/12 & refused to go back into nappies! So Xmas day worked out as day 3 of potty training which wasn't ideal

Issummeroveryet · 15/10/2017 17:16

I wrap all presents potello, half the fun is having the living room swimming in wrapping paper! Grin

Definitely going to get some bubbles, she loves them. Hoping to potty train after xmas too so I think paw patrol pants will go down a treat

Most of the fun is having something to open so I always wrap (although not very neatly!)

DS has a Playmobil truck set so I am going to wrap some of the bits individually, as well as the obligatory toothbrush, paste, chocolate coin and satsuma.
