Would dh like an echo or dot? Would men like them

Don't usually buy for each other unless something special... And have cash. I don't know much beyond what have read here about them, they sound fun. Our house is not techie at all.. Would dh like one?

The echo is the dot just with a speaker, so if you have an un-techie house then having the speaker might be useful. If your dh likes the idea of going a bit more techie then anything nest is worth looking at. I got dh the nest thermostat last xmas which he liked - but then he fitted wifi sockets round the house, so he's into that stuff. Maplin are always really helpful to chat to and have been generous with their time whilst they explain something to me for the 8th time.... 😁

I've got a dot and the sound on it is ideal for background music or listening to the radio in the house. I have one in the kitchen and have no problem hearing it when I'm sitting outside

I couldn't decide between Echo and the dot but I'm glad I went for the dot and didn't spend the extra

I'm happy to buy either or even both as I have not got him anything decent for a while infact, it's his bday soon, would it be wroth getting one then other for Xmas? Do they compliment each other or replace each other?

Dh listens to stuff on his wireless headphones... So public loud wouldn't be any use to him. But I imagine it does other fun stuff?

I wouldn't bother with the Echo tbh - the Dot is fine for most purposes.

If you wanted to get something to go with it you could get the Philips Hue starter pack, with a couple of light bulbs, for voice-controlled lighting.

I'm getting dh the dot for christmas. He has no idea that he needs it and I can't wait to play with it lol. 🎗
