I made some home-made mincemeat last year and it was delicious. Much better than shop bought.

I'd love to make some more this year but I've lost the recipe Sad

Has anyone got a favourite recipe, please?

I use Delia's recipe. It keeps well too.

I made this last year, it's really nice but slightly different - a little lighter and more fruity as it has fresh cranberries in. Nice if you want a little twist on the traditional.

Definitely Delia. So good I have to stop myself eating it straight out the jar!

I made a Mary Berry one last week with apples from our tree and it was to die for, even freshly made. It has butter rather than suet, which I think improves it a lot.

I am going to try that one too, NotaPuffin. My Dmum and DH adore mince pies , so will make several batches! Grin

I make a River Cottage one that uses about a kilo of plums. It's amazing Grin

I can't link to it as the page I had bookmarked has disappeared into the ether, but I'll see if I can dig it out from elsewhere.

I've got a great recipe off my mum where you boil a whole lemon & then blitz it in the food processor to add to the mix, I'm not even a massive fan of dried fruit Blush but this gives it a nice fresh edge. Just looked online but can't find it, I have an old photocopy of it, will try to look again after

Baffled as to why that doubled posted several hours later ? Confused

Plum one? That sounds delicious, Deploycharitygoats Shame as I've just finished using up the last of this year's plums from our trees and was looking for new recipes as we had a huge harvest this year.
