The tickets went on sale at 10am today, but all the December weekends were taken by the time I got out of work at 4pm.

I didn't expect them to go so fast! There is a mid November weekend left and a couple of days in December, but the kids will be at school.

Has anyone got tips on how to book successfully next year?

I always take a half days holiday from work when there is something I really want to book like Father Christmas or theatre tickets. Only happens a couple of times a year but have found it's much less stressful that way. Normally phone in 5-10 minutes before booking opens and join the queue or log online and refresh the page every few minutes. Been successful all times so far

Thanks, I may have to do that next year! Wishing now I'd realised how quickly they'd go.

The last weekend in November is still available. Is that no good?

We're going for the first time this year. I understand from a friend who went last year that if you've been before you are a VIP guest and get the option to buy the tickets a day early. It may be worthwhile posting on here next year and asking if anyone isn't using their VIP booking and if so could you have it.

Ah, so that's how you get to be a VIP.

To be honest, I'm disinclined to pay the price (£228 for 6 of us) to go before the christmas season has really started. I think I'll try again for next year and make sure I'm ready to call on the dot of the tickets opening.

I will definitely ask on here for spare VIP access! That's a really good idea.
