Yes, Tesco have these in- well,I say in, I have put them on my delivery order for Friday. I know they are cheaper the sooner you buy them ( they are £5 each) but I can't remember seeing them this cheap. I think they were £8 for 2 last year.
I will of course have to hide them so indeed to stash them InThe cupboard under the stairs. DH is the worst eating of chocolate culprit and he never goes in that cupboard!
I'm only new on here, obsessed with Xmas and don't really know the MN protocol for xmasthreads. Please tell me if I step on anybody's toes.

Xmas Grin

I haven't been to Tesco for a while but yes , they stack those tins high !

MyYoniFromHull · 13/09/2017 21:49

They're probably down to about 350g per tub by now though...

Protocol for Christmas Threads:
everyone is welcome provided they don't wail : It's only September

You don't get much in a tub these days though.

NoWordForFluffy · 13/09/2017 21:55

Not like the proper tins of the old days!

I bought a load of M&S Christmas biscuits and chocolates the other day. Teachers' presents half sorted now!

Agree the old metal tins with more chocolate. YY 70, the only protocols over here are don't be a Grinch Grin

yorkshireyummymummy · 14/09/2017 00:55

The tins have between 670g and 750g per tin. So a kilo and a half of quality street for £7 seems a bargain to me!
I agree, the metal tins were better. My mum used to get them every year and they lasted us forever although for some strange reason we didn't open them until Christmas Day!! I think nowadays we celebrate for the whole of the month- things seemed much more low key in the 70's, well certainly in my family it was! Not in this house now though!!!

70isa - Never, never will you hear me wail like that. I - like most of the people on here- start my Christmas planning in January ( or indeed, the end of December) when I start buying the Cards, paper, crackers, smellies etc in the sales.

Last year they did a proper tin of quality street but it was more expensive and I think it was heavier? Trip to Tesco for me then!

Blankiefan · 15/09/2017 19:03

They put them on a better deal now as they know you'll eat them and have to buy more in October (and November and December)!

fourquenelles · 16/09/2017 20:26

Just started my Christmas treat hoard. I spent just under £20 in Tesco today on :

2 tubs of chocolate sweets £7
2 bottles of Bucks Fizz £4
box of Matchmakers £1
box of After Eight £2
2 mega chocolate coins £1
2 bags Lebkuchen biscuits £1.50
oatcakes £0.47
Foxs biscuit assortment £2

Really pleased with my haul

NoWordForFluffy · 16/09/2017 20:30

Lebkuchen?! Oh my.
