Starting to think about Christmas dinner and getting some ideas :)

What would your favourite Christmas dinner consist of?

Yum yum 👅

I'd be happy with just Yorkshire puddings, stuffing and cheese sauce. Maybe some braised shallots.

Might out me..
As a kid Christmas lunch was what the kids chose- so always toad in the hole.
Roast turkey for dinner in the evening- karates menu sounded good, but it has to have braised red cabbage, & celeriac & potato purée (delia) along with roast potatoes.
Lots of wine.

Posh, we always do braised red cabbage and spiced beef on Boxing Day! But I'll definitely look into the celeriac and potato purée!

Starter - garlic mushrooms / pate with ciabatta (with Buck's Fizz generally)

Main - turkey, braised red cabbage with cranberry and balsamic vinegar, carrots, honey glazed parsnip, green beans, cauliflower cheese (I'm the only one who eats this), sprouts (DH only), roast potatoes, potch (swede and carrot mashed with butter and pepper), sausage meat stuffing, pigs in blankets covered in DHs amazing gravy. Paired with Bellini for me and wine for DH

Any of the following-

Indian banquet
Thai banquet
Chinese banquet

Not a fan of the roast dinner

Anything that someone else has cooked.

Having cooked it for the last 20 years, I would be so grateful for a break. I would also bring flowers, drink and puddings with me, plus make a monetary contribution if requiredGrin

House if we were home and you were near us you'd be welcome at ours.
I don't cook - I lay the table, keep drinks flowing and dish out pudding, DH does everything else. Only rule is not to be a spoony git taste things as they're cooking as DH gets a bit protective until food is on plates! Xmas Grin

What i would like.

Prawn cocktail or melon

Turkey
A shit load of yorkshire puddings
A shit load of pigs in blankets
Mashed potato!!!
Thick gravy
A fuck load of stuffing balls too.
Leeks in white sauce
What i will get.

Prawn cocktail it melon

Turkey
Brussel sprouts (a shit load)
Pigs in blankets (2)
Carrot and sweede mash (a shit load)
Roast potatoes (a shit load)
Stuffing balls (2)
Leeks in white sauce (a good amount)
Yorkshire puddings (2)

Although 1 of the above items will be left in the oven unnoticed until someone says 'er... wheres the yorkshires' by this time they are charcoal and so for the rest of lunch we mourn the loss of our humble yorkshire pudding 😢.
