By the way re Spider-Man dvd - if you have a Now TV account I believe that has the sky store app so it may be possible to become a sky store customer and claim the free dvd without having actual Sky TV.

Badders08 · 13/09/2017 09:48

Re Nintendo switch...
I've just received mind that I ordered from very.com with the 20% new customer discount
So its cost me £225 paid over 3 months interest free 👍😁

Badders08 · 13/09/2017 09:48

...a saving of £58

Minster2012 · 13/09/2017 09:49

The works have 10% off £10 at the min & cashback, I realise I missed 25% off, I only want to spend £10 do you think they'll be better ones?

GirlWithTheYellowHat · 13/09/2017 09:53

I've just realised that Argos have their own version of Our Generation dolls. Does anyone know what's best?

whyhastherumgone · 13/09/2017 09:54

Thanks for the tip @badders! Did you have to set up a Very customer account? x

And thanks for the Elemis tip - the app won't let me scroll back to see who shared it, it keeps jumping around. Annoying! But I purchased a set :) Christmas shopping well underway.

Wishingonajetplane · 13/09/2017 10:01

Has anyone heard about Smyths who usually do 20% off instore this weekend?

I asked in store this week and was told firmly by staff it isnt happening this year .

OhHolyFuck · 13/09/2017 10:16

Bit of a wait but if you order now, should still be here for Christmas

Amazon Echo is down from £149.99 to £99.99 which is a brilliant price for this. Prime Day it was £79.99 but I'd imagine the current price might be as low as it'll get outside of Prime Day (not sure about Black Friday or Cyber Monday..?)

beadyboo · 13/09/2017 10:42

Long time lurker, occasional poster. I need to start buying some actual presents now, as everything I've bought so far has been for me. I'm going to be reading a lot of magazines shortly!
I did manage to get some inflatable fruit shaped rucksacks and and a huge inflatable smiley face lilo type thing from Monsoon / Accessorize yesterday with 70% off. This was in the actual store rather than online but they were fun and a bit quirky.
Last year this brilliant thread pointed me to Wilkos for cheap beauty advent calendars which both DDs loved. This year I'd like to do stationery, but can't justify the Smiggle ones. Anyone any ideas? I'd hoped The Works or Wilkos would be a good bet but can't see anything yet, perhaps it's too early still? DDs are 11 and 9.

Haudyerwheesht · 13/09/2017 10:54

girlwiththeyellowhat dd has the argos dolls - think she has all of them. She loves them and they're good quality I think. Her friend has the our generation dolls but I don't see a difference other than more add one for the OG.

yum yes you can use sky store through now tv and get the free Spider-Man offer

Lolly12 · 13/09/2017 11:04

Can't believe you're on thread 4 already! I need to get my arse in gear.

singadream · 13/09/2017 11:15

@girlw'ththeyellowhat dd has two of the argos dolls and loves them - I haven;t seen the other more expensive ones but I don't think the argos ones seems cheap or less good. I think they are same size too for the accessories.

VinoTime · 13/09/2017 11:36

B&M have loads of mermaid and unicorn makeup bags in stock, for anyone who bought the eBay brushes and was wondering what to put them in!

I picked this one up for £3.99 for DD. The holographic pattern goes really well with the brushes Grin

BBTHREE76 · 13/09/2017 11:37

Hi All, I do lurk on here but don't post much. Just wanted to say that I have finally got an advent calendar that my DS (13) will approve of. It's the Cadburys Heroes Advent Calendar and it was £4.99 @ B&Ms. Apparently it's interactive and you do something with a bippar phone app with it. It's safely stashed away already so don't know much more than that sorry. HTH Wink

BBTHREE76 · 13/09/2017 11:40

Sorry for typo - it's the Blippar app - I think it gives you a different filter for selfies each day - as well as the yummy chocs

ItsNiceItsDifferentItsUnusual · 13/09/2017 12:06

Wishing - oh no! I was planning to go first thing Fri morn. I've written a list and everything Sad

totallyLosingIt · 13/09/2017 12:15

I've just had a voucher code in the post for 20% off full price items at Kurt Geiger. I won't use it, but it looks like a one off code, so if anyone wants it then let me know and I'll PM it to you.

Fancythat69 · 13/09/2017 12:24

@ItsNiceItsDifferentItsUnusual smyths say the sale isn't happening every year, and every year its gone ahead 😁

dawnky1983 · 13/09/2017 12:25

Hello, long time lurker here, thanks to all for the bargains! Not really Christmassy, but definitely wintery, ebay have kids trespass wellies for £6.99 with free p&p, and when you get to checkout there's a further 15% taken off. It's the trumpet style easy to find if you search. Hope this helps someone!!Smile

ItsNiceItsDifferentItsUnusual · 13/09/2017 12:32

Fancy- phew! It's my first year with a proper list from ds1 so I was counting on it!

Llamacorn · 13/09/2017 12:33

I was in the phone to smyths there and the guy said 'I can now confirm there will be nothing this week, or next, but check our website and facebook page on the 25th of this month and you may see something'

Wtf does this mean? Hmm usually they are very secretive about their sales but something about the way he said it made me wonder. Really do hope it is this weekend.

I've just seen the L.O.L big surprise set and my dd would absolutely adore it!! Will be keeping everything crossed I can get my hands on one. She has asked for a case of LOL dolls like the youtubers have, but I think she would like this event better!

MrsCrimbo74 · 13/09/2017 12:35

Glitter gin and tonic tasting selection £29.99 10% discount using WEDNESDAY10, postage is £4.99 so not cheap, but a nice little gift set. And you can get them in different colours as well as other gift sets

Thread 4 - the one where the DC go back to school and things get serious
GirlWithTheYellowHat · 13/09/2017 12:46

Thanks for the giant doll info! I might just go for the Argos one and get aliexpress clothes.

What's the lol doll big surprise??

Llamacorn · 13/09/2017 12:46

In regards to the Argos/our generation dolls.

My dd has an American girl, our generation and we've had a couple from Argos too.

I have to say that the Argos ones are actually really bad quality, I don't rate them at all. They are also quite a lot smaller that the og/ag ones - a lot slimmer. The hair matts very quickly and my friends dd lost the head off hers Shock

OG ones are a good dupe of the American girl ones and a good quality too, plus a large range of accessories from smyths.

Hope this helps in any way - my dd is obsessed with them, hoping to get the our generation girls vet set for her this year too.
