I'm so excited! I haven't opened it yet, I'm waiting till tonight when the kids are in bed and I can curl up in front of the fire in peace and have a glorious wallow in it Grin

Is this a one off special? Are you a subscriber or did you pick it up in the shops?

NotAPuffin · 05/09/2017 14:12

Yes, a one-off. I got it in a shop. 147 pages of premature festive goodness : )

Mallowmarshmallow · 05/09/2017 19:15

Eek! I vow not to buy the Christmas magazines every year and just dig out previous years and it'll be just the same but it's all a lie....a big fat lie...and I'll be scouring the shops tomorrow for it!

Augustwashout · 05/09/2017 21:00

Fabulous. Don't normally buy the Mags... but this early this treat....yes. by way was in IKEA and it saw done Christmas wrapping paper.

Jb291 · 05/09/2017 21:04

Hmmm..how many pages are just glossy advertising??

GinevraFanshawe · 05/09/2017 23:35

I read that in the shop this week as ds was asleep in his pushchair and I was bored, it was quite good! They recycled one of the cakes from last years mag though which is a bit cheeky.

GinevraFanshawe · 05/09/2017 23:36

I LOVED the idea of making cinnamon buns in a Christmas tree shape though and am stealing that and making a heart shaped one for my wedding anniversary!

A1Sharon · 06/09/2017 10:40

I bought a Christmas magazine last year and was so disappointed. It was complete drivel.
Let us know if this one is any good though OP?

NotAPuffin · 06/09/2017 10:50

I can't let you know yet, I'm afraid. It was sunny last night and it didn't feel right reading it so early. I'm going to stash it away till the 1st of November (and get the December Good Food to go with it) and enjoy it properly then.

Ooh, I think a quick trip to the shops is in order! Might have to hide it from DH though or he'll think I've gone off my rocker Grin

PerfumeIsAMessage · 06/09/2017 10:56

My first post on a Christmas thread this year!
I must get this today. I aim to start baking etc next week, and no, dp doesn't need to know!

TheOnlyPink · 06/09/2017 11:04

I had a read quick flick through it, and the if you are a regular good food reader, a lot of the recipes have already been published. It's €8.50 here in Ireland, so won't bother!

PerfumeIsAMessage · 06/09/2017 15:47

I got it...and the lady on the till in Asda went "oooh look" and showed her friend on the next till and we all ooohed and ahhhhd for a bit.

NotAPuffin · 06/09/2017 16:16

Yeah, I got comments from loads of people in the shop too. Especially as I was also buying Halloween decorations...

There is a whole section things to make with children which they have copied straight from last year's it's about 4-5 pages. But plenty of other good stuff in it Smile

just5morepeas · 08/09/2017 11:58

I just bought this the other day! I always say I'm not buying crimbo magazines but I always do. xD

I loved the sound of the Gingerbread cake with caramel biscuit icing and it looks really nice decorated with little gingerbread biscuits.

smellylittleorange · 09/09/2017 14:29
