Stocking for my mum - ideas please

The past few years I have done stockings for my mum which she loved. Looking for ideas for it for this year. She can afford everything she wants so it is more about novelty things and putting thought in. She isn't into smellies or candles and I want it to be about her as her not her as a grandma so gifts from or about the kids are separate.

Any ideas?

Thinking about what to get my mum also at the moment - love this Flowerswhat about jewelery? Spa day with a lovely massage? Cashmere knit? Something timeless or an experience / day out she wouldn't normally think to book for herself?

If you are quick you might be able to still buy some ' holiday mini' shampoos, shower gel, etc. There's loads of stuff in Superdurg that are ' mini' and if your mum ever goes away then it's a gift that will be used. Some special tea bags, or coffee if she drinks them. Or some miniature bottles of Bailys, Tia Maria etc. Mini note book and pen. Does she do any sewing? There's loads of ' crafty' things you can get- needles, buttons, ribbons, threads etc. Does she have a hobby at all? Is there anything little that you could get her to do with that? Does she wear make up? Lipstick, mascara, eye/ eyebrow liner etc. Also, some perfume houses make mini bottles of their stuff ( I got a Versace one recently) where you get five or so pretty, tiny bottles. They would be nice individually wrapped ( although they are pricey). Batteries? Everybody needs batteries! A gift card for M&S with £10 on it for a ' dine in for £10' night. Scratch cards/ lottery tickets. Lip salve. ......actually I'm really glad that you asked this as I have thought up some good things for my daughters stocking! The main thing is that it does depend on your budget!!!

Lots of great ideas already, I struggle with my Mum's as I've given her most thinga over the years
What are her interests?
If she gardens, seeds, bulbs, gardening gloves.
If she cooks, herbs or spices she might not have in her store cupboard
Notelets, stamps
Puzzle books

GETTINGLIKEMYMOTHER · 09/09/2017 19:35

I'm probably at least as old as a lot of the mums mentioned here, and one thing I really appreciate - if anybody ever gives me any, which is hardly ever - is some nice new socks! Not bedsocks, which I'd never use, but just nice, everyday socks, which I hardly ever think to buy for myself. A dd gave me some lovely bamboo ones one year - very soft and comfortable.
Dh always puts a big bottle of Badedas and a Badedas shower gel in my stocking - that's another 2 things I really like, which I'd never buy for myself.

My dream Christmas stocking would consist of:
L'occitane hand cream tubey thing (love that stuff!)
Small bottle of perfume to try
Maybe a clay face mask or sonething like that.
Pretty item of jewellery (earrings or sonething)
Small box of hotel chocolat
And maybe some pretty nail polish or sonething like that.

cheerylilthing · 09/09/2017 20:05

Chocolates from a local chocolatier
Mini jam
Socks
Small candle
Hand cream
Nice tea/coffee
Macarons
Chocolate coins
Apple / Orange
Mini photo frame

The best thing my daughter put in my stocking was a fold up shopping bag in its own little bag - it lives in my handbag and I've used it such a lot. Also nail varnish, earrings, lip balm always go down well.
