Do we have any idea what this years "it" toy is going to be?

Obviously last year was hatchimal

Dd was too young and still in nursery

This year she starts primary school so will hear kids talking about wanting a certain toy and I can see her showing an interest

What do you think it could be?

Ooooh, I'd not heard about Lego boost. I think my eldest would love that.

Oh dear I wanted to get lego boost. Now I'm wondering if its going to be really hard to get/expensive

Seriously how do people afford theses toys? Lego Boost alone is £150. I just couldn't buy it, I have 6 nephews plus DS 2.

I think drones are still quite popular.

Coding toys seem popular too.

I'm not falling for any of them.

I've decided on my "big gifts"'for my two

Train table and train set for the 2 year old. I'm going to glue the track down to the table. Both will play with it too.

Kitchen and play food for the 4 year old. Again both will play with it.

And then it's just little gifts.

I am not paying £100 for a sodding doll

I've still got budget for a 'something' for both kids. DD starts school next month (sob!) so may come up with something she wants between then and Christmas.

If she doesn't, I'll decide for her when I see something which appeals!

Yeah my Dd starts school this year too...if she desperately wants something and it's not too badly priced, obviously the kitchen will be swapped but for now,'it's a wooden kitchen

I think hover boards will come down in price and be more popular

I always find it rather sad when people glue train tracks down (if you mean the Brio type train track, that is). A huge part of the fun and the whole point is building and changing the track.

We've got so much Brio / Brio-type track and associated stuff. The kids bloody love it!

The price of these! Is it too late to send the toddler back?

I'm gluing it down for one reason...

My Ds has a terrible habit of pulling it up and then throwing a wobbly because the train won't go on the track anymore. I repair said track, and 5 mins later the same thing happens again

Only so many times I can handle this before I bash my head with said track

If he was older, I would let him have it to build. I know I could wait to buy one but he does love train sets

DS has asked for the castle/building thingy from the Lego Ninjago film. His lost so far is made up of Lego but the set he wants is £269 so that would be his main present if he gets it. I'm hoping it appears in a sale somewhere before Christmas!
