Anyone else started making Christmas Puddings yet?

I make at least 4 or 5 every year for family and friends and I usually start them in the summer holidays so they've got time to mature. Also one less thing to worry about in November!

I've just put the first one in the slow cooker so it will be ready in the morning when I get up.

I shall probably do the cake in the next week or two as well! Anyone else?!

Now I'm desperate to eat some!

All this talk has made me decide I would like to make my own this year. My mum used to make ours but she passed away 7 years ago and it's been shop brought since. My worry is that I will mess it up and it will taste horrible.

Do what I did @chaplin1409 and make a test one just now, let it mature until October, try it and if it all works out you can make the Christmas one.

That's a good idea. Which recipe would be best for a beginner?

I used this one and found it pretty easy but I know lots of people swear by Delia's

I also found some plastic pudding bowls with lids in Dobbies clearance section yesterday, it must be a sign to make more! Xmas Grin
