Holiday Grand Plan/ House & Holidays Plan

Just wondering if anyone uses the Organized Christmas site for any of their plans for Christmas prep? I've used the House & Holidays plan as a basis for my own planning. In some ways it's very American but I quite like it. I've also made my own Rudolph Club plan based on the OC one.

I haven't used it before but I think I will this year as we are staying at home.

Snausage · 30/07/2017 12:19

I do! Not to the letter, obvs, but I do use it to organise myself. I end up drawing up a schedule for clearing out, cleaning, batch-cooking, shopping, organising gifts I've bought throughout the year, writing cards... I have a notebook that is full of list upon list upon list.

I often don't stick to the lists, but I try my best!

Every year religiously :)

Innnnnnteresting. Last year was our first xmas at home and it was definitely a bit 'cold'. DS now 2 and DS2 arriving in Nov, so would like to make it magical for DS1 and be organised for myself in the newborn days!

VivaJen · 31/07/2017 19:01

@Snausage & @Pregnantmushroom what ones do you use? I prefer the H&HP but this year I've taken notes from the HGP to add in. I have to rearrange the order a bit though.

I tend to use HGP, as it works better for me. But with tweaks, and taking some stuff from HHP. And knowing some weeks are great to get loads done, while others are a write-off and must be caught up on in with other rooms. Luckily, I don't have an attic really so that's a spare week.

It's very handy though to do a reasonable clean of the whole house, regular maintenance (check smoke alarms, clean gutters, sweep chimney...) and some decluttering. And get a bit ahead of myself by 1 December as it's a mad month for loads of reasons and I always want to embrace my inner Christmas nut!

BiddyPop · 01/08/2017 13:52

And I never ever manage to finish it! Xmas Grin if I make progress towards improvements I am happy!

BroomstickOfLove · 06/08/2017 04:59

Are they doing it this year? I signed up for the first time last year, and got an email saying that it would be the last time they ran it in that format.

VivaJen · 06/08/2017 06:54

Nope it is definitely on this year, I think Cynthia said that she was postponing retirement.

I received the messages for this last year and was inspired but not enough to actually get me to engage properly.

Another year of stuff filing up my house further on and I'd really like to follow it a bit better.

Does anyone have the link? When does it start?

Mallowmarshmallow · 06/08/2017 10:38

Oops sorry, I've seen the link in an earlier post...

VivaJen · 21/08/2017 20:21

Lists and plans are all printed, just need to put them in the folder. I love how organised it makes me feel!
