Morning all.

1st of April eh?? Has been a busy year so far.

I've got a hangover headache today so I am planning on having an easy day and a chilled out Sunday.

Hoping you all have a fabulous weekend.

I'm in full on Easter planning Xmas Grin

I will have:

A Tree (okay the Easter Tree is white painted twigs hung with decorations but they are A Thing, even the John Lewis site has them)

A wreath- ribbon, faux eggs, willow wreath on the door

Nice Meals (all the lists Grin ) and setting the table

Chocolate (eggs)

Marzipan (dark chocolate covered marzipan)

Cake

I have glass round tealight holders that I fill with those little yellow chicks

And candles of course (Yankee do some seasonal ones)

ConstantlyCooking · 02/04/2017 16:51

I'm considering decorating the house for easter....

I saw some beautiful stuff in Waitrose. I'm definitely putting an easter wreath up just need to clean the front door first

BiddyPop · 04/04/2017 10:20

My plans for a peaceful day off yesterday went awry (which had included catching up on sleep after Cub Scout hostel trip and going to the storage unit to get out lighter spring clothes and Easter decs). I spent it doing paperwork and having meetings instead.

But I think that I need to cheer myself up this Easter (we haven't managed to get the decs up the past 2 years) so I will make EVERY effort to get to the storage on either Thursday night (unlikely - another meeting) or on Saturday afternoon.

HairsprayBabe · 04/04/2017 11:33

We decorate for easter,
Pastel bunting, little egg ornaments on the twiggy thing in the dining room, put some ornaments away and replace with Eastery ones. Usually ones I have received as gifts! Daffodils everywhere!

I am still dieting sadly, and I have asked for no choccy eggs this year, so I will probably get a load more spring themed ornaments to stuff into my tiny home!

DP is getting me some stuff from lush Grin

PixieMiss · 04/04/2017 11:42

Anyone else loving the "doing" Easter thread in Chat?

I love any excuse for a celebration, decorating and a big family lunch!

Mrsmadevans · 04/04/2017 17:17

God in heaven I have been suffering ....my dh has been suffering that should read me with a dental abscess for 5 days , he is unbearable when he has these and makes my life a living hell. Needy, whiny, sulky and grizzly, not to mention refusing to go to the dentist for treatment and swallowing enough cocodamol super strength to give him an overdose and put us all out of misery. Oh I know I should be more sympathetic but he is taking the biscuit and everyone elses too! Sorry for the moaning but ......I am exhausted and wanted to share my misery , you know the saying ....misery loves company lol . Hope all ok ,the Easter plans sound wonderful , I am planning to eat myself into a coma with choc of any way shape and form after this weekend from Hell!

lollyj84 · 04/04/2017 19:49

MrsE, your poor DH and you of course.
He really needs some antibiotics. I hate dental abcess or toothache. It is worst kind of pain.

AdoraBell · 04/04/2017 19:56

You have my sympathy Mrsmadevans I have no sympathy for people who refuse to seek help but want 'mummy' to look after them

We don't do much for Easter, eggs for the DDs and relaxing, that's about it. Although I suspect MIL will try to guilt DH into something.

No progress in terms of Christmas at present. Too much else to think about and pay for.

Hope everyone enjoys Easter.

MrsDilligaf · 04/04/2017 21:27

We're off to my sisters for easter and DH is working this weekend so I can decorate the house to my hearts content.

I'm hoping that Martha will behave at the weekend as I need to do a spot of gardening. I'm thinking about putting a hanging basket up at the front temporarily until I get the big ones up for the summer!

Cox and Cox have some beautiful Easter egg decorations if anyone's looking.

Flashinthepan · 05/04/2017 14:03

Was tempted to get some but husband would roll his eyes I think (not that that usually stops me) but he's a big fan of fresh flowers so think I will go the daffodil route, as we won't actually be home at Easter anyway!

Mrsmadevans · 05/04/2017 19:33

Ahhh thank you for the sympathy my dears . I have good news! Hubba had his tooth removed and peace reigneth ! He is very much better and only taking cocodamol every 5 hours now instead of every waking minute
I have bought the Easter eggs and have managed to resist so faronly bought them yesterday
Have been very good on my diet today but have hot cross buns in the cakey tin lol
hope all good take care am off to work the night shift ! I will get some peace tonight

I managed to buy most of my easter eggs on Tuesday night, along with the makings of an easter bonnet for school parade (DD wanted a straw hat and 3 bags of mini eggs to attach to it - chocolate of course, not plastic - "they'll be my lunch mum" Shock! Grin). I don't think DH is too impressed by that part but, tough, he wasn't around to help plan and organize.

Committee meeting last night - dragged a little but done for another month. Minutes will be written up over the weekend.

A meeting with a parent from Scouts tonight, need to hoike up my big-girl pants for that one. Important to do though.

I am just hanging for the weekend. Forecast is sunny Saturday so I plan an afternoon of not very much at ALL!! Then Sunday going to storage and getting out boxes, including Easter decs, and maybe putting out a few things. We're travelling but haven't finalized plans yet - it will be a trek criss-crossing the country as usual!

I also managed to buy birthday cards this morning to restock my box. I need to write 3 for DAunts, but there are a good few coming up as well. I didn't get any children's ones (my age cards have drastically reduced, but DD is going beyond those now for friends - for some reason, I have quite a few for 1 and 6, but had none for 7 when I needed one on our last trip down home!). I also need to get a communion card in the next few weeks. (And lose a stone to fit into something respectable for DNephew's FHC...I'm after being a bit better this week with more fruit and nuts and less bread and carbs at work, and proper dinners).

I'm up earlier than blacksmith Xmas Grin (OK < I'm awake late not up early ...)

Ooh we'll be into the two fifties soon ...

MrsDilligaf · 07/04/2017 06:48

Morning all!

SideOrderofSprouts · 07/04/2017 08:32

Morning! I really need to sort out the Easter eggs. But if I do it too soon I'll eat them!

I might (no might about it though) have bought a gorgeous Christmas decoration from QVC ........ Xmas Grin Its an illuminated bell ornament.

I have Easter Eggs for the DC (and a mug and little rabbit ornament for DD) but I'm sure they won't mind more .

I need to get my shopping list sorted out (and I got a £5 gift card from Sainsburys to entice me there)
