Started on the last panettone today and have taken delivery of Nuxe advent calendars for next year (reduced to £14.99 so I bought one for DD and one for meee Grin).
I have also made a note to check superdrug's website in early October for advent calendars as I know the good ones had sold out by half term last year.

SideOrderofSprouts · 06/02/2017 08:57

Glad your dd is better paw xx

ooh ConstantlyCooking where did you get the Nuxe calendars at that price please?

ConstantlyCooking · 06/02/2017 23:48

Nick it was on the Nuxe website. They had really good sale offers. I have put them in my Christmas cupboard but am thinking about an idea I saw on another thread where you reward yourself with a window for each lb or kg lost!

Notanotherpawpatrol · 07/02/2017 10:26

Asda have got some really good offers on on their arts and craft and sticker stuff as well as their kids dvd's. The DVD's are £4 each or 2 for £5 and the arts and craft stuff starts from £2. In my local one its with all the valentine's stuff, not the normal toys so may be worth hunting.

I bought a Barbie dvd for dd2's birthday so picked up a paw patrol one for DS at the same time!
Their kids books (Julia Donaldson as well as other authors) are 2 for £7 includes room on the broom, gruffilo and gruffilo's child.

Notanotherpawpatrol · 07/02/2017 10:27

...Should that be on the bargain thread rather than here? I'll pop it over there too!

Xmas Grin

Need to have a little catch up on the thread!!

HairsprayBabe · 08/02/2017 09:45

Same MrsD I got totally lost then!

sorry all, feel like I am barely on here these days!

BiddyPop · 08/02/2017 10:24

Morning all [waves] lovely wintery morning here, frost on the windscreen and a cooooolllllld nip in the air (it's colder now than it actually was at Christmas!).

I have done precisely nothing yet. Well, apart from rolling over the spreadsheet.

I intend doing a lot of crafting this year, after a few years of almost none. Once I get caught up on a bunch of different sets of paperwork.

I don't need to book a cottage as we are NOT travelling "down home" this year. DH muttered a week or so ago about perhaps going to Canada and skiing, although he followed that yesterday with wondering what sailing would be like near Vancouver in summer. Although skiing in Europe may also be an option. I think Australia is a year or 2 away yet (we would like to do a long trip, maybe 4-6 weeks, there one winter in their summer and hopefully including Christmas). We may just stay at home in our own house....decisions!

We found the Christmas fleece over the weekend, it got dropped behind an armchair so missed in the packing up of Christmas exercise, DD was delighted, but I'll wash it this weekend and pack it away then. There are a few more bits that are floating around, mostly gathered in the spare room, but they need to get to the storage unit.

And I have 1 mini stolen left, to enjoy with evening tea over 2 nights soon. DH will be away next week for 2 nights, so possibly then.

The other thing I have to do is sort my budgeting and accounts again - I had been keeping things balanced but dipped into my savings and have wiped them out entirely! I just lost complete track over the past 18 months, and I need to reign everything in, hard! We're not skint, but I need to re-do my budgeting to my actual income and figure it out better.

TheWoollybacksWife · 08/02/2017 13:49

MrsD now you have discovered Woolly Hugs you can say goodbye to your free time, M will be have to learn to be self sufficient and you'll have no money for anything as you will be spending it all on wool Grin

Xmas Grin
MrsDilligaf · 09/02/2017 16:15

Not much of anything going on here this week. M has been a bit poorly and so yesterday I whipped her to the Dr's because she's been off her food, off her fluids and very out of sorts.

She's perked up today, but still wants cuddles which is not like her as she would far rather be climbing up the chimney than having mummy snuggles!

ConstantlyCooking · 09/02/2017 16:16

Looked at the thread this morning and completely forgot the countdown (hangs head in shame and wanders off thread)

MrsDilligaf · 09/02/2017 17:46

Lol!

Tuts @ConstantlyCooking Hmm

Aldi had some great stocking fillers in the aisle of wonder - "Spot" books, children's drinks cups, and a few other bits. Apparently their posh candles are very like Jo Malone. I'm fond of a smelly candle or 12

Ahhhh poor Martha, though climbing the chimney eh? Ya mean you force her out to work as a Chimney Sweep (start them young) Good Plan to save some Christmas funds.

Eyes turn towards uber skinny DS (17yo) with his waspy little 26" waist, he could easily fit up chimneys and earn a few ££ to keep his elderly mother in her old age................

Nothing beats Mummy Snuggles Xmas Wink

MrsDilligaf · 10/02/2017 08:16

Well she's small! She manages to get into the nooks and crannies so I thought I'd put her to work early GrinGrin

The little beast had given me her bug and now I feel shocking Envy

HairsprayBabe · 10/02/2017 08:17

Yes Mrs D I am a total candle addict! Hope Martha is feeling better soon.

I can't believe how close we are to 300 days already! It seems to be flying by this year.

Saw some nice stockings in the sale in H&M when I was in yesterday, they looked all forlorn and sad amongst the discounted vest tops and tangled necklaces... Didn't buy though because me and DP have stockings already and there is no one else to buy one for yet.

AmyAmoeba · 10/02/2017 13:59

Catching up with a nice cup of tea. This is one of the nicest places on mumsnet isn't it!
Sorry to hear about all these sick dds. Hope yours enjoyed her birthday Paw? My Dd was nearly in hospital for her first Christmas and even though it was a terrible rush to pull Christmas together that year it was such a special one because she had pulled through! Like that she wasn't sick enough for hospital, but still not well. And after cradling a sick child while cooking a turkey one handed, I don't think anything will ever phase me again Grin
How are you MrsD? It's hard when they are sick and only a million times worse when you are too! Hope it passes quickly.
We're planning a little weekend trip soon that will take me in easy reach of all sorts of shops that I don't have nearby and I'm terribly excited. Haven't told DH yet that he will need to schedule in some shopping time (he'll groan) but I absolutely can't tell him that what I'm really excited about is hunting for Christmas bargains. Least said and all that!

Mrsmadevans · 10/02/2017 15:10

317 DAYS how quickly its going not quick enough Mrs D I hope Martha is better very soon and you my dear.
